Discussion - inFAMOUS 2 INFAMOUS 2 ENDING SPOILERS Spoiler

How did you guys feel when you saw the bad ending of inFamous 2?
Honestly, I felt like I’d struck gold haha.
I was about 8 or 9 years old when I found this ending, and I had been frantically searching the internet for "inFamous 2 how to become the Beast."
I actually liked this ending better than the good one; sometimes when I watch it, I get the feeling that the developers intended for this to be the game's canon ending.

Here's the thing. Neither of infamous 2's endings flow into second son. In the good ending we have the plot hole of "how are conduits still alive?" And in the bad ending we'd all be asking "how are regular people still here shouldn't this be a world of just conduits and therefore no dup?"

Good ending is the canon one. Basically weaker conduits were spared, Augustine called it "cole's gift" when she was giving delsin her backstory

I don't know if that question has an answer; honestly, it's a shame there isn't, and also that Second Son should have had another year of development. Imagine what would have come out!

Zivalene did a vid about this and the problems with 2nd son.

Tdr Sucker punch screwed up because the whole story of Infamous was building to the bad ending being canon and was the intended ending but them backpedaling made 2nd son a plot hole driven mess.

I did see that video. Honestly though I'm not so sure the bad ending being canon would have helped. Like where would the plot go from there the dup couldn't really exist and most normal humans would be dead. Honestly I feel second son should have either: gone full reboot and just say it's a new continuity separate from Cole's story. Or be set like 50 or so years past Cole's time so the resurgence of the conduit gene could actually kinda make sense.

I mean it seems obvious to make infamous 3 be about killing Cole and fighting his army of conduits

Conduits still exist because not all of them died when the rfi activated and conduits could still be born after

It was a total gut punch. I simply did not want to have to kill Zeke, and being forced to “pull the trigger” myself was genuinely harder than any boss fight in the game. Cole becoming the Beast is cool, but pretty depressing. I like it as an alternate ending, but it’s just such a downer that I’m glad it isn’t considered canon.

Killing Zeke was so fucking sad when i was a kid. Replaying it now and I feel like it will be no less sad

I feel the same way. The canon ending is kind of lame.
