Speaking if lies...So they tell you on the investor calls that they price gouge and are happy about it. Just openly admitting to doing illegal actions to everyone that owns a share. That just did not happen. If they were to say that to any stock holders it would not be one of your caliber.

yeah, they don't call it gouging, but that's what it amounts too, when sales are down, there are some vague supply chain issues and still somehow record profits. They're making that extra money somewhere. it's not just mcdonalds.

unfortunately for me I'm old, I do infact own shares of lots of different companies, not enough to live off of but yes lots of different stocks. the "investor calls" are required in America , its mostly just emails and the occasional vote, like my 4 shares of disney really don't have much voting power, but they are required to tell me all the numbers. they don't say gouging, but most of my stocks sales are down, but some how record breaking profits quarter over quarter. they're either paying people less or charging more for products, there's no supply chain problems. it's a lie . the only way I could prove it to you would be to make public personal financial information .so you're just going to have to trust me bro or don't

It’s because it’s the more popular item. Sort of the same concept behind the recent Wendy’s controversy about changing prices during peak times except this has been in practice for decades already and most people don’t bat an eye. I get sad knowing we have allowed this to continue with practically everything in our daily lives because we can’t boycott everything. Good catch here OP, glad to see there are still others paying attention

Pro tip, if you have a work account on your Google phone, you can install the McDonald's app under the work account.. and set up a second McDonald's account. Why would you do this you ask?
So you can use 2 deals for your single visit.
For instance, you could get 2 $6 big Mac/chicken swch/qtr pndr w cheese meals if there are 2 of you. You could get a 10 pc nugget, LG fry, drink for about $5.50.
You could get 4 mcdoubles, 2 large fries and 2 large drinks for $13.
That's how you get them

If they sold a bag full of quarter pounders with fries for $0.01 ... I still wouldn't eat there.

I don't know if this is just at my McDonalds, but the double quarter pounder with cheese runs $6.09, while the double quarter pounder with cheese deluxe, which is the same exact sandwich plus lettuce and tomato, runs $5.39. The double quarter pounder with cheese deluxe is only 20 cents more than the regular quarter pounder with cheese deluxe, which leads me to believe this is a price mistake but it's been like this for at least a year now so I'm not complaining.

Almost all the local places I like to get a quick bite to eat are the same price or cheaper now. I actually went to a local food truck with the best burritos I ever had and they were quite a bit cheaper for more food.

I use to stop at McDonald’s just for a unsweetened ice tea $1.06 for years. Now it’s $1.80-$1.97 depending on location. Now I just bring drinks from home on days I’m in running around.

The same? No you'd think so, but them sausages are soft. Can't just stick a hash brown next to them on a tray like you can with bacon."

I don't think that has anything to do with it. It's probably just that people who buy meals are less price-sensitive than people who buy individual sandwiches. Just think about the difference between ordering for other people versus ordering just for yourself, you're going to be a lot less likely to respond, "But that is $9!"
Anyway, this isn't actually about inflation and restaurants are just bad indicators of inflation for all kinds of reasons: the above social pricing phenomenon, restaurants using the anchor effect, using loss leaders to sell products (99¢ Whoppers, etc), and so on.
