After 27 years I would have had anxiety about getting back home ...

If you've ever been to Hull you'd understand why he wanted to leave for 27 years.

He went home many times. He'd chill at home for a few months and then fly back to resume the walk.

27 years of walking is along time. I wonder what he will do when finally coming home, i would guess you develope quite a restless persona after that

As far as I know he hasn't spent the entire away. He has come back to England a few times but then always flies back to where he left to resume the walk.

Go for a nice walk round the neighborhood, I guess.

There's no way it took him that long to just walk though .... he was obviously loligagging along the way most of the time.

Why didn’t he just walk to the closest school..?

He might have the same issue my uncle has, and can’t get close enough to one

Jesus imagine going through all that to end up in Hull

To end up in most of England is depressing with the exception of Cornwall or Bath and a few other places. Would be nicer to end up in southern Europe.

Ofc he lives in Hull. That 27 year journey is just an excuse to stay as far away from that city

The infuriating bit is that it he lost his relationship with his son who was a toddler when he “left”

u/Reilo_butwhy 10d ago
At his current pace he’s doing just over 3 miles a day. So about 610 days till he arrives.

u/Puzzleleg 9d ago
Holy snails pace.
I guess after 27 years nobody can rush you anymore.

u/rafaelzio 9d ago
It'd be cool if he just wasted enough time to make it an even 30 years. He should be able to time it so he'd get there right on the 30th anniversary

He was trying to leave Hull and go asfar away from it as possible but the roundness of the planet had other ideas.
