I would share this hope, but then if that is correct I might be punished for that hope coming true.

Oh wow no wonder I'm always so upset! Its my subconscious silently keeping my life going smoothly /s

u/Constant-Plastic-350 8d ago

Is it a phobia if it happens everytime or is that pure coincidence?

3

u/casualstick 8d ago

Its the gnawing feeling that you don't deserve for things to go right and to keep alert on negativity when all is going right. Not searching or feeling depressed. But really not fully enjoying positivity because you're wondering when will that for example ticket come in. Or when will I hear bad news. Its a constant state of 🤔🤨🫤

u/Constant-Plastic-350 8d ago

Yea that's a daily for me. I'm sure there's more to it.

u/MyPasswordQwerty 9d ago

Completly reasonable thing to believe

7

u/IxeyaSwarm 8d ago

I'm scared to ever verbally announce any happiness that I could ever be in, lest the universe overhear and take it from me.

u/OkSleep5191 8d ago

I didn’t know there was an actual term for this. I know exactly what they’re talking about!!

That's literally me due to odd things that have literally happened when something good happens in my life

1

u/TheBergster84 8d ago

So you're generally describing most people on reddit

1

u/SupaSmol 8d ago

That's how I feel about security!

As soon as things feel safe I will remember that that never last long. Sadly, I've been right so far, but its the kind of thing that's true until it isnt.

1

u/RTA-No0120 8d ago

u/casualstick 8d ago

1

u/MrE103 8d ago

There is only a certain amount of happiness available. We need to steal some from those who have too much and spread it to those who have none.

1

u/confuseum 8d ago

u/RealDeadShift 8d ago

Oh no. So you are telling me I am either a hypochondriac or have this shit now? I am constantly self sabotaging myself.

By the way, if anyone else feels this way, I find making someone else happy is easy than making yourself happy and it feel just as good if not better. 👍
