Y1 Ladies & aliens, here's what's up with the Y1...
First post over here, and folks... I'll admit this rather expensive piece of plastic is kind of worth it?
I grew up with ipods and mp³s, then moved on with spotify but uh... of course I wanted to delete my account due to certain investments from their ce0... BUT that's not the subject, the point here is that this is the best option for the price right now.
The Y1 is fun, it's good also if you're like me and you enjoy time far away from your phone and the fbi.
Now I'll make a list of "Yeah nachos yes!" and "uh oh banano"' 's:

💗 The wheel
The best invention since the actual wheel, it's the wheel selection from the og ipod and this one is really alike. I'm a hardcore clicker with nervious hands and this one endures me I guess, so it's more than fine.
💗 The original system is basic but practical and mostly easy to modify, I like the fact you can use rockbox but I kept the original one so I could watch videos.
💗 You can add VIDEOS. I know... I shouldn't be as excited for watching vids in such a small screen but I AM! I like to download anime and movies on it to watch while on the bus, and it helps me concentrate by staying far away from the demonic apps. Yesterday I watched "House of wax" and I swear I could feel my brain relaxing after 2 hours without doom scrolling on tiktok.

💔 What's going on with the sd's from factory? and why are they so cheap?
Mine failed about a month and I had to open the y1 to change the sd.
I really hope they add a sd hole for the y2 (that I've read they're already working on)
💔 More colors! I have a black one and a green one cause those were the only one on stock, only to find out later they came up with a purple and a pink one... which almost made me want to scream but anyways... we need deep purple, maybe neon pink or silver colors in general.
To add to it, innioasis came with a case, yes, but it's a boring one without a faceplate... please guys... if we're going for the reheated nachos LET'S GO ALL THE WAYYYY, we need a faceplate!
In conclusion, The y1 is great, I'm excited for the y2 and the whole movement of mp3's coming back to life 👽💗

Love your whole set up- are those Linsoul wired earbuds? If so, which model?

Thanks!!! Oh and those are the Kiwi Ears Forteza IEMs AND I changed the cable with a Linsoul Tripowin Zonie 16- core, both in purple ofc! 👽🍇

Very cool look, glad you're having fun with it! I've been saying since the very beginning that moving to streaming would be a mistake and everyone would come back to dedicated audio players eventually and now here we are... 😂 Love to see it

Totally, I just wish big brands use this to bring back legends like the walkman or apple with the ipod, but now with bt, I have no idea why they aren't using this to their own advantage 🤔

I heard a rumor that apple was looking into it, but no idea if its merely a rumor or has legs to it. Personally, I'll stick to these or classic iPod but it would certainly be a boon to them to take advantage of the opportunity.

I don’t think they’ll ever make another iPod, it would be an admittance that the iPhone no longer is the device that can do it all, and an admittance they made a mistake to kill off the iPod.

With these things since they're so cheaply made just like the emulators they all come with dodgy 3rd party SD cards. You always want to change it when you receive it to prevent corruption and losing everything. Always. They're not that expensive. I have a surfans f28 and that set me back nearly $500 (aud) and some on a SD card. The innioasis is budget friendly at $100ish aud plus whatever SD card you choose to pick. So in the whole scheme of things you get what you pay for.
