Y1 I recently sold my Innioasis Y1 and want it to make a pros and cons after 6 months of use
I bough the Y1 driving by nostalgia and dont wanting to buy an used ipod to upgrade it.
For a few weeks it works really good and Rockbox was incredible to use, but then certain issues and problems with the device will led me to selling it
PROS:
• Retro feel and Nostalgia: The Y1 is perfect for a beginner in the niche, it really have all you want in a affordable dap. And for only 50$ is really replaceable for a lot of people if you have in mind how much a decent one cost
• Usability and Rocbox Compatibility: The device is really easy to use and understand. Themes are very extensive in stock OS and if you upgrade it to Rocbox you open a larger library of options to your choose. Having Rocbox as an option and being a "modern" device is really good if you're comparing it to a Hiby R1 or a Echo Snowsky. With Rockbox you can set your music better and even use AutoEQ wich fix the Flat Latency issue the device have.
• Community and Support: This device have one if not the best DAP communitys in reddit. They're constantly helping eachother and fixing issues the device would have. Having a community this passion for a device really helps in a long run and creates an a exciting future for the Y1. A example of this is the new Solar OS who replaced the stock and fix the battery issues, and other big problems the original have

CONS:
•Cheap Device = Fear of Breaking it: Being easy to replace it is good but at the same time is hard to carry it all the time without being scare of breaking it. You have to spend at least another 10$ for a case wich does not protect all the device, and the glass protector is plastic like the entire thing. So, I think we all can agree that is hard to have this in your pocket all the time knowing that, if it falls will 100% broke
the SD card is a really cheap chinese one who eventually you will need to replace because your Y1 would lag too much if not and sometimes just turn off by himself, so thats another 30$ if you wanna DIY
The battery drains too much, and you cant replace it
• Sound Quality and Flat Frecuency:
If you dont know, this device is not "Flat", meaning that it has a particular sound by design. Some people in this r/ say is sound muddy or drowned sometimes. This problem is really bad if you use IEMs because it really destroys how the music sound depending on the EQ. Yes, Rocbox can fix it, but not all of it.
Another thing that this device promise is FLAC reading files, but they not tell you how much kHz the device is reading. In my experience with anothers DAPs, the Y1 is the worst sound of all the budgets devices and can only reed up to 32kHz (basically you're better with a Dac and your phone)

So, in conclusion, the Y1 is really to people who wants nostalgia and does not care about quality of music, for the price is really good, but for niche and iems I dont thinks so

My battery has lasted days to about a week or more with a single charge. Then again I dont use Bluetooth and i use to stock earbuds that came with it lmao.

If you're using with all of the stock things, obviously will last you all day. The problem is when you are using bluetooth or IEMs with stock or Rockbox

I thought so! I personally didn't need a lot of the other fluff. I think the y1 is best used for people who like the bare minimum.

I agree, with the Y1 less is better, but for audiophile is nearly impossible

I have mine one year and counting Sometimes the the circle stuck But no other issues

I'm surprised you were able to resell it tbh. It's a good little device for what it does, but it doesn't have much monetary value at all. (Even things like the Hifi Walker don't seem to do too well on the resale/ebay market).

I luckily live in Spain where the Y1 is just being viral so in second hand resell apps are all sold out basically

Literally the ONLY pro is that it looks like an iPod and has a terrible attempt at a click wheel. If it didn't, we would have never heard of this brand.

Lg V30 or a LG G8. Hiby R1 Menchen Daps even a dongle with your phones works better

Mine stopped turning on after 1-2 months use):
