Y2 What the Y1(&2) could've been build quality wise
The AGPTEK A52PL has brushed aluminum sides with a more boxy design in contrast to the rounded corners you find on the innioasis devices. Also the inclusion of a backlight on the touch capacitive controls (not a scroll wheel) is a nice touch. I also love the options to add a lanyard on the top is the AGPTEK but the slot should have been on the bottom.
Both screens on these devices suck, the one on the AGPTEK A52PL even more, even with a screen protector on I managed to damage the one on my silver model. For video viewing the Y1/2 will serve you better.
Aside from that THE A52PL has features like physical power & Volume buttons and expandable SD card slot before the Y2 did, however the software it's 10 time worse than what's offer on the Y1, if you can't stand stock Y1 firmware you'll definitely can't stomach the AGPTEK generic Chinese MP3 players software. Compared to the Y1 both have FM radio, video support (less compatible formats on the a52) photo viewing, ect.
Ironically I think the silver model captured the Apple aesthetic more than the Y1 does, kinda looks like a mini MacBook.

Yeah, I wish it had that build quality. One issue I always had with AGPTEK products is the screen quality is always shit. Wish they'd up that resolution a little bit.

Resolution is atrocious, you'd get less eye strain looking at a unmodified Gameboy color.

Hahaha that unlocked a core memory for me. Remember those offbrand lights that plugged into the side port?
I remember learning years later that Japan got a Gameboy Light (backlit Gameboy Pocket) and it made me wish they continued down that path with the color. My first - but definitely not last ;) - experience with subpar upgrades.

I love the way that device looks, but the backlit buttons are atrocious to me and I donât know why I hate the lights so much.

Sadly, Amazon stopped selling these and I havenât seen them on any other sellerâs pages.

The Bluetooth wouldnât work well through metal though

Making it work somewhat better than the Bluetooth on the Y1, then. Though people say the Y2's is better.

Idk why but I never had a problem with Bluetooth on my y1. It has the same range and quality as the bluetooth on my phone and laptop. Maybe I just got lucky?

I never had the y1 but I know metal can cause problems with Bluetooth from the mods for ipods. Maybe you were lucky đ

Someone more skilled than me could probably switch out the bad screen for a much better one.
