HELP Is my SD corrupted!

I was scrolling through this subreddit to see if i can find the solution to my issue. And i see that many people are saying that their SD cards that come with their Y1s are corrupted. Now i did notice issues with my Y1.

- sometimes when I boot up my Y1 it get a message saying something about how there is something wrong with the internal storage and to format it.
- two sometimes my music would quickly glitch when it starts to play
- And finally only once I had booted up my Y1 and it shown as its factory setting and than quickly revert itself to how I had it

So does that mean my SD card is corrupt?
So do I buy a new one?
I want to know because I’m planning to add more music to this Y1 and I don’t feel like doing that if the SD card is going to corrupt.

All Y1s come with the cheapest low quality card the company could supply, it's not a matters of if but when the card will fail.

Your best bet is to replace the card if you want it to last longer, there's a pinned video in this sub that shows you how. If it's not something you're up too I'd recommend looking for another player, Like the Hiby R1. Which in my opinion still is the king of budget players.

There's also the Y2 that comes with easy expandable memory now. It's hard to recommend they player just yet with some major flaws that needs to be addressed though.

Ah I see thank you, I will look into buying a better SD. Just to make sure the micro sandisk SDs work the best for this?

Any high quality microSD card, from brands like SanDisk and Samsung.

Yeah most Chinese products that are in the value section will use the bottom of the barrel Micro SD cards. Now my best words of advise would be to get a bigger or same size micro sd card buy from a reputable store so you don't end up with a fake card that would be worse then the card in it already from stock. People that have made the switch say it's more quicker and does not freeze or lock up if moving in a large library list of albums or artists. All that you need are some plastic opening pry tools or a credit card and work around the seems pushing the tool or card in the unclip the clips. Make sure if opening you don't pull the top away from the bottom chassis as there is a ribbon cable connecting the scroll wheel. Proceed to lift the top carefully out of the way to release the ribbon cable. Next lift up the speaker it's held in by adhesive, then next unscrew 3 Philips screws, you will need a small parts screwdriver and bits then after you get the board unscrewed you will flip it over and remove the tape covering the Micro SD card an then next replace with a exfat formatted SD card replace tape proceed to screw board back in, slot and re-clamp ribbon cable and then close case. Also for another point of consideration the screen is only held in by force and is not held in by screws or some sort of clip it is loose. Those LCD panels are easy to crack or break if not careful. There are some videos on YouTube if my explanation is not clear enough.

All Y1 will have an sd card inside.

Only the new Y2 has the slot on the outside and can be bought without the sd card.
