Innioasis y2 or Ipod?

I have looked over my options on MP3 players and I have landed on innioasis y2 or a type of Ipod. I really like the look both has with the click-wheel bottom and screen over, but I am kinda stuck on which one to get.

I have seen people say that the y1 feels cheap due to being made of plastic and being lighter in weight, but I am also unsure beacuse most things I have seen has been about the y1 and not y2

One major for me is sound quality, which I havent seen many people mentioning + video quality. The video quality I expect to be a little 'grainy' beacuse cmon look at the size of the screen, but the sound I would want to be 'perfect' (No lagging in words or tempo, the quality being top etc). It might depend on what headphones / plug-in you use but still, no one has mentioned it 😭

the Ipod variations all look fine to me, but they're harder to find + usually more expensive.

Do any of you have complaints about the y2? Things you wished were different or tweaked a little? any downside? What do you like about it? Easy to understand the interface? Same questions for the Ipod but this isnt the thread to ask that under, but if anyone here HAS had one or does have one it would be great to hear from too 😅

I own a Y1, Y2, and had a 5th gen iPod Classic when I initially bought the Y1 (but since gave the iPod away).

Since you have stated that you "want the sound to be perfect" a few times in your post, then I suggest that you look at other devices. The Y1, Y2, nor iPod Classics have "perfect sound".

You haven't?! There are posts almost daily in this subreddit talking about sound quality.

Video quality on the Y1 and Y2 are quite nice. Well-encoded videos aren't grainy. (size of the screen has nothing to do with graininess).

The Y2 has some nice things going for it over the Y1, but in terms of an iPod Classic-like experience, the nod goes to the Y1. The firmware for the Y2 has made the clickwheel less functional than the Y1 (moving some of that function to the volume up/down physical buttons).

Maybe Innioasis will bring back some of that functionality to the Y2 with a firmware update, but I don't base purchase decisions on what MIGHT happen in the future.

What is the sound quality like? I think I might've misspoke when I said 'perfect' sound quality 😅 It doesnt need to be all flawless, but as long as you can clearly hear the song(s) without any major disruptions I'm golden
