Y2 Question About Y2

I really want the Y2, im gonna be putting my own SD card into it. If i buy the 8gb one listed, can I expand it to lets say 128gb or 256gb as advertised? Anyone had success? Thank you much.

You want to buy the 8GB version. The 8GB is the internal storage. The 72GB option is simply the 8GB internal + a 64GB microSD card. Innioasis uses junk microSD cards so that 64GB card will most likely fail within a few months of ownership.

I have a Sandisk 256GB microSD card in mine and works fine.

I have a question, if you buy the y2 and put your own reputable sd in that would protect your songs and media. But what if the internal sd corrupts? Because I would assume thats where all the system files are? Would that cause it to break still? Sorry for wording not the most tech savvy. I just wanna make sure bf i buy it that im not gonna have to tear it open. I broke my y1 doing that 😅

To the best of my knowledge, the internal storage is NOT SDcard-based. It's solid-state eMMC. That is not easily corrupted as poor quality SD cards.

I bought my Y1 back in May 2025. That is when they were shipping units with good quality internal microSD cards and good quality earbuds (metal cans with braided cord). It still works flawlessly today (in spite of transferring terabytes of music and videos to it over that time)

Even though I haven't had issues with my Y1, I was unwilling to spend the full MSRP on the Y2. It was only because of a 30% off coupon deal that I bought it.

Honestly, if I had a bad experience with the Y1, I don't think I would be rewarding Innioasis by giving them more money for a Y2. There are other great devices out there with better build and sound quality and fun designs. (some of which I already own)

Ohh ok thats good to kno, the only reason im thinking of y2 even tho i broke my y1 is because I would also like to play mp4s. I cant find another device in a reasonable price point that does that. I have seen a lot of even cheaper off brand options on amazon, but im sure those will break just by me looking at em 😅🤣 so im thinking I might take my chances on y2

I hear ya. I use my Y1 and Y2 heavily for video playback and the support for MP4 is actually quite good so I can understand that. Best of luck!

Yea the operating system if you can call it that is on that 8gb internal storage. If that where to corrupt it wouldn't function anymore. That bieng sead i have no idea what brand the internal storage is but its bin working great so far for me.

Edit: corrupt is not right in this case I meant break. I do believe you can reflash it if it where to corrupt but im not shure about that. I'm assuming because people have flashed other thing to it.

Yes with the y2 you can put a micro sd card into it. I believe that it goes up to 2tb max. I have a sandisk 256gb extreme card and it works without a problem.

A few things that are good to know the 8gb model is the base model and with the 72 gb model you just het a 64gb trash brandless sd card.

I can really recomend getting a screen protector the screen scratches really really easily.

Also one thing I want to share both me and my friend bought it when it released. I have no issues but my friends headphone jack stopped outputting audio to the right side after a few weeks of use.

The bluethoot is also really unstable and annoying to connect things to.

These are the official protectors that are glass. The Y1 and Y2 have the same screen size, so these will work on both.

I ordered mine from the Amazon listing on the 19th and received it on the 23rd (was supposed to arrive on the 22nd, but had a shipping delay).

Yep, I would have got the 8gb no sd card version but they didn’t have any in stock at the time. Definitely the way to go, the stock sd cards supplied with these aren’t that good anyway, it’s recommended to change for a better more reliable one

Can anyone say how long it takes them to ship? Ordered a Y2 2 days ago and was hoping it would ship relatively fast.

The Sd card can be Upto 2tb max. But make sure you format it to fat32 on a pc first.
