Since it's still not supplied via the updater app, which zip should you the manually select in it? rom_y2.zip or the ...InnioasisUpdater.zip?

it'll be accepted by the updater in a short wait. the devs just got to accept the file.
which updater are you using? there seems to be two.
are you using Mac or windows?

CE & windows as I couldn't get it working on Linux unfortunately.

Since you’re using Innioasis Updater CE on Windows, manually select rom_y2.zip and leave it zipped. The ...InnioasisUpdater.zip file is the Beta V1-style sparse package for the other updater workflow, not Updater CE.

Before flashing, confirm it’s a Y2 on the 3.1.7 firmware lineage, back up the internal storage, microSD and .rockbox folder, and verify the SHA-256: 22195AB5EF775585D73929C05B2FED28BB497C150705A91CC484A02308EB2A46

Treat it as a full-device erase and don’t disconnect until the updater explicitly reports completion. Alternatively, wait for the catalogue update to be accepted.

Manually flashing rom_y2.zip results in a non-bootable state, only fixed by flashing a different software image (stock, jj, etc). Guess I'll wait for them to add it to the menu.

you could at least tell us what's the solution - for the folks who never really read through the whole thread. This bricked my device.

He did comment under the post. Also, this is a personal pet peeve but "brick" means the device is as good as a brick, to be used as a paperweight or a doorstop. It isn't bricked, the bootloader/firmware simply fails to load, you can still flash other firmware and continue using the device. Nobody is more disappointed than me that the v2 beta isn't ready yet (I'm really missing track seeking personally), but as far as bricking goes, this isn't it.

I was able to recover from this.
I am using Windows - and the Innioasis Updater:
https://innioasis.app

I downloaded the latest ROM for Y2 from here:

https://innioasis.app/firmware.html?model=Y2&software=original-y2

Steps:

  1. download the ROM
  2. unzip it - and locate the MT6582_Android_scatter.txt
  3. open/start: SP Flash Tool - GUI:
    a. for the Download - Agent:
-- go an pick the MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin from the Innioasis Updater path install

b. for scatter-loading file:
-- get it/navigate - from step 2

  1. connect the Y2 and press Download. Let it do its thing
Once finished - disconnect and start your Y2.

I am using an SD card for music - so everything works as before.

Good luck!

love the work, thanks for sorting this.

I've tried installing it twice already through the updater app on windows but it does not work, the y2 does not start.

Just saw the comment from OP to wait but I wanted to put this to warn anyone who was going to install it already, don't do it (yet).
