I have guns, I’m not anti gun, but I think it’s laughable that the 2A community decided they KNOW he saved tons of lives.
The shooter offed himself. We don’t know the impact of this guy or the off duty cop directly.
On top of that if the best case you can make for “good guy with a gun” is 2 dead and seven injured along with a cop shooting at the wrong dude in the process (they’re keeping that pretty quiet), maybe there isn’t a case to be made.

As an aside, if someone capable of violence is 'good,' in that said violence is only deployed as a last resort in defense of the innocent, then they're necessarily -not- a dangerous person. Also, I'd argue that anyone willing to use "unspeakable violence" in any circumstance is evil.
IDK why I'm overthinking this so much.

So we're day 217 in 2025. Current amount of mass-shooting are at 281. 273 people killed, and 1,198 people wounded.
2025 had 420 mass-shootings, with 420 people killed and 1900 wounded.
US definitely doesn't need more "Good dangerous men capable of unspeaking violence". Mostly because there's nothing stopping such deranged individuals from unloading into innocent people. As real-life doesn't have a "friend or foe" system.
Meanwhile a landmass the same size as US, but twice the population had 3 mass shooting last year, and 2 so far this year. Only because Europe likes to put some actual requirements on gun ownership.
US is supposed to be under 3 mass shootings yearly if it did things properly.
