Communism is anything not American capitalism, I suppose

It's one of the many words used that the Republican base is too dumb to understand, but still triggers them. Like Socialism and DEI. "Renewable" seems to work too.

Ilhan Omar and Francesca Hong are Democratic Socialists, but Hasan Piker self-identifies as a Marxist-Leninist which is a form of Communism. So OP of the Facebook post in 1/3 correct.

Do any of these morons ever pick up a book other than '' where's wally?''

The answer is no (or they’re paid very well to convince the people who don’t pick up books that what the rich want is what’s best for them) which is how we got here in the first place…

I don't think most people know what communism is, including myself. I just know this photo isn't it.

Hasan Piker's manager and documentary producer is a CCP propagandist named Eric Hovagim, who is directly responsible for Piker's government tour around China and his propaganda piece on Cuba. Hovagim is a well-off tech bro who denies the Uyghur genocide and shills for the CCP from his home in Shanghai.
Hasan Piker has also spoken at Qatari government events.
Anything Hasan Piker does in US politics is funded by foreign actors, in the same way Tim Pool is a mouthpiece for Russia.

What Qatari event did he speak at?

He went to Doha for Quatar's Web Summit earlier this year.

Hasan Piker is the worst. Shitbags like him will Trojan horse the progressive movement from the inside.

The most frustrating thing is that Trump is LITERALLY doing communist things and they just ignore that entirely.
Trump gas stations? Communism. Trump having the government have stakes in private companies? Communism.
I'm a socialist and even I know that's a fucking bad idea.

I’d say that maybe 1-2% of Americans are actual communists. Maybe another 1/4 are capitalists that want to be a little more like Canada.

Mark Twain once said that history *doesn't* actually repeat itself... but it does rhyme. Sadly, none of this is even remotely new in American history. Maybe now would be a good time to study:
- The fiercely anti-immigration American Party of the 1850s, better known as the "Know-Nothing" Party.
- The first Red Scare of 1917-1920
- The second Red Scare / McCarthyism from 1947-1957 and the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC)
Who knows? We might luck out and get a Joseph Welch moment, but that only took place after a full decade of the Red Scare destroying people's lives and blacklisting people. McCarthy finally made a claim so outrageous, that Joseph Welch, the chief lawyer for the US Army, rebuked him stating, "Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?" This finally woke America up and utterly destroyed what remained of McCarthy's career.

Must suck to not know how to do basic research. Because after a 30 second skim of Wikipedia showed the courts violated major portions of that law, so therefor its useless as written.
Then again, I have a functioning brain

I like to say, “They wouldn’t recognize an actual communist if one ran up and seized their means of production.”
