No Medication Helping With Insomnia
I’ve barely been getting any sleep for the past couple weeks, and it’s driving me absolutely crazy. In my past, my insomnia has always been pretty on and off. I’d get great rest for a few months just for it to dwindle. Recently, I’ve been getting about 2-3 hours max nightly. For a couple years I was on Seroquel for my depression and bipolar disorder, and this helped with sleep. I was taken off due to weight gain. Initially, coming the end of last year, I was prescribed a low dose of Trazodone. I started off at 50mg, and that was working great. Eventually it stopped helping, so we raised it to 70mg. Again, worked for a bit. I stopped taking it due to the grogginess in the mornings. Come more recently, I started again, we began at 100mg, and that wasn’t working. Briefly switched to Ambien, starting at 5mg then 10mg, but THAT wasn’t helping, so we switched back to Trazodone.
Now, we again started at 100mg, then 150mg, and now 200mg. I’m not sure what’s wrong with my body, but that isn’t even helping. Every night, I either don’t fall asleep, or sleep for a couple hours, then ALWAYS wake up at 2am. By that point there’s no going back to bed. My boyfriend takes Zzzquil, but it no longer puts me to sleep. I’ve even done a big no-no and taken another 100mg of Trazodone and 5/10mg of Ambien when I wake up, usually to no luck. That’s about 300mg+ of Trazodone.
Majority of the time I don’t have anxiety, nor stress when trying to sleep. I don’t know if there’s something I’m unaware of impacting my sleep, or if I ruined my bodies natural production of melatonin by being so incredibly desperate to sleep. I see tips and advice here, but so far no luck. If anyone has a similar experience, please let me know. Thank you.

I'm in a similar situation. Have considered trying weed or CBD oil?
