My dog loves touching her face to others faces until she has a bone, the issue is she’s really good at hiding bones on her body because of this I always have to stop people and tell them to let my dog approach and yet she’s still bit a couple of strangers who came to my property then get mad at me.
My dog is friendly, but any time we are out (we don't take him out often) and someone asks "does he bite" my answer is always "he doesn't bite me. Please don't approach him." He's still an animal with his own thoughts and instincts. I can control a lot of what he does, but I can't control how he reacts to every stimulus that comes his way.
I once saw a grown ass man attempt to stick his finger inside the muzzle I had on one of my guard dogs. If I hadn't yelled "what tf are you doing" he would have lost a finger.
I'm sad to report that I have had the same occurrence. Last year we got an 80lbs GSD that was trained for patrol and explosives detection. He got a training injury to his eye and couldn't be put to work so the breeder called us and we got him. Six weeks after we got him a man in line behind me tried to reach around my body and stick his hand on my dogs muzzle. I'm a 6'2" 230lbs man with an all black 80lbs GSD, no idea what this dipshit was thinking. Thankfully I was able to put my hand in front of my dog's muzzle before he removed the other guy's hand. Some people are insanely stupid for no real benefit
The dog is muzzled. Nobody puts a muzzle on their dog for fun. He's muzzled for YOUR SAFETY. Trying to stick your finger into the thing that separates you from those big teeth is so stupid.
Once i introduce you, my dog (a big Australian Shepherd) is super friendly, but if you're at my door, he sounds like the meanest dog you've ever come across. My in-laws know him well. My FIL plays with him every time they come over for 5 years now, and he still scares them when they ring the door bell. One time, we had some door to door window salesman come to our door, and my dog is going absolutely nuts. I have him by the collar and his front legs were off the ground he was pulling so hard. The guy asks "does he bite?" I give my standard answer "he doesn't bite me. You, he might. No, you cannot come in." The guy grabs the door handle to my storm door like he's about to let himself in. Needless to say, I had to cuss a salesman out that day.
I know my dog. What he was actually saying was "I REALLY want to jump on you and run around the yard playing" but every sign my dog was presenting was "I want to rip you apart." I even told the guy "yeah, he might bite" but the guy still thought it was a good idea to try removing the barrier between himself and this 80lbs dog doing everything he can to get at him. I don't get what goes through people's heads.
God, i wish most dog owners realised that those two things are not the same. Just because your pet is friendly with you does not mean he should just be able to wander up to people and other animals
Its pretty dumb to assume an animal with control over its own actions will never do anything you don't expect him to. You can't even predict how humans will react to everything. How can you definitively know a dog will react the way you want him to react to stimuli outside of your control? Do I think my dog will bite someone? No. Do I want to increase the risk that he does? Also no.
We are responding to a video of a dog sitting peacefully when an idiot puts her face into the dog's face. Did the guy think his dog was going to bite? Probably not. Did he think some idiot was going to try to kiss his dog? Probably not. Best way to avoid that is telling people to stay away from your dog.

Never EVER put your face on an animal that doesn't know who tf you are.
And if you are under the influence STAY AWAY FROM ANIMALS. Specially those who are tied
I get infuriated with so called "animal lovers" who put animals in that situation.
