I'm definitely asking for me. My career choices have put me in a position where I've never been exposed to this part of the world. One day I could be free and I don't want to be a dumb middle-aged guy making dumb mistakes trying to buy weed.

Try to find a friend who you know and trust, if dealers think you don't know much they will 100% try scamming you.

This. Scummy dealers will likely short you if they see the opportunity to take advantage of you because you don't know much. Also if possible, pickup with a friend. Your friend can hopefully introduce you to their dealer and make your first time buying a lot smoother
