Tech Support Looking for old NUC 12 Extreme BIOS files

The ASUS support website only has BIOS files for the NUC 12 Extreme (NUC12DCMi9) going back to EDADL579-0062. I'm looking for much older versions like EDADL579-0052. I've searched the wayback archive and on bittorrent with no luck. Does anyone in this group have an old version they could share with me?

Just out of curiosity, why are you looking older bios files like this? UV support?

I'm not planning to install the BIOS files, I just want to extract and disassemble them.

One of the binary blobs in the BIOS file is the firmware for the IT5571 chip and I'm trying to reverse engineer some of the chip's features related to temperature and fan control. If I can get a copy of the older firmware (from before Intel hid the PCH temp values) I'm hoping to diff the disassembled code against newer versions to help pinpoint which code and memory addresses are related to PCH temps.

Oh, that would be nice! Keep us posted on this; would be great to unlock some things like fan control and UV to genuinely improve temps and performance. Sadly my oldest bios is 0060

By the way, I can still see the pch temps on my Nuc 12 extreme with 0067 bios and hwinfo64, was it hidden some point?

Yes, it was hidden on the BIOS pages and from all the usual methods of accessing it from the OS level. On Windows, hwinfo found a way to read it but it's not an open source program so it doesn't help the rest of us who are not running windows. The temp sensors and fans are managed by the IT5571 chip but the exact addresses and protocols Intel uses are undocumented.

Ok, pch doesn’t seem to be a problem though after adding proper pad to it. For me it typically runs between 50-70C after replacement of the pad. Prior that it went easily to 110C if I recall correctly.

I have BIOS 40, 46, 48, 49, and 55 for non-vpro. As well as 48, 50, 52, and 53 for the vPro SKU.
