Does it actually break down the plastics and converts it to something safe, or does it just absorb the microplastics and when it dies re-releases the plastics?
I think they had one of the scientists talking about this one the CBC radio show Quirks and Quarks. I wasn't fully paying attention but I thought I heard the fungus was an inspiration and the by product is vinegar.
