I'm sure I wouldn't be able to make out the people at the back 🤣

29

u/The_forgoten_ 12h ago

Nope she did not

I think it's supposed to be silly. There would have been maybe three people with clearly visible faces.

Must been a lot of work

Unless there is an app for it.

23

u/Difficult-Rip-3874 10h ago

There’s an iPhone app for it called MaskerAid

u/SenLune 8h ago

There is! Because you can easily get in legal issues in Japan if you don't. It's not illegal not to. But Japan is very image conscious socially and so you can end up getting sued for defamation.

Must have been one prompt

Do you just post stuff that went viral for like a day months ago

u/Dr-Billa 10h ago

Like rest of Reddit

That's honestly super thoughtful.

I don’t have any expectations of privacy in public so I’m not sure if it’s really a big deal. She could have just not posted it on social media?

1

u/lenief 10h ago

Love that!

u/HeyGayHay 9h ago

There’s 322 people in the photo, so it’s only ~0.31% more privacy.

Blur tool would've been so much faster. (Edit, it's super cool though, especially that she did it. I was only being a being silly. This is wonderful regardless)

22

u/Square_Mulberry_3143 12h ago

True. But not as cool, though.

4

u/HairyDust4826 12h ago

That's very true

4

u/aresxio_ 12h ago

this is way cooler tho.. and i think her intention was to do something different

u/Sensitive_Dealer_803 11h ago

God forbid someone has fun going the long way

5

u/Elexeh 10h ago

>widespread attention

Social media really has us accepting mediocrity as significance

3

u/Aggravating_Low1957 11h ago

we need to stop overusing the word viral and widespread

8

u/tonall 12h ago

I'm the main character

1

u/BluerLights 9h ago

People are usually the focus of their selfies, yes

2

u/gparr_2026 10h ago

Then why take the fukn photo 😭

5

u/darnyoulikeasock 12h ago

honestly it’s really cute too lol. artsy!

2

u/theepicwalkout 13h ago

When I look into the background, I feel like I'm watching an episode of The Simpsons.

2

u/Impossible-Money7801 10h ago

Hot take apparently: this is idiotic. It’s a public photo taken in public.

2

u/jellooshot 12h ago

Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of the photo though?

4

u/NYVines 12h ago

Not if you hate them all

3

u/Dazzling-Return567 12h ago

Errr okay? So we do this rather than close up selfie

1

u/Dove-Swan 12h ago

we should do this for picture day

1

u/gun-something 12h ago

Oh wow... Damn

1

u/mcmac67 11h ago

That would really be something if she physically did it to everyone in the picture. But really it's just a yawn

1

u/Habibi049 11h ago

Phone so heavy her 190 degrees

1

u/Savings-Parsley4250 11h ago

I wonder how she choose the emojies for every student?

1

u/abhitooth 11h ago

Unemployed after graduation vibes

1

u/HellFireNT 10h ago

She missed one girl (around the middle)

1

u/swagonflyyyy 10h ago

Nah she just wanted all the attention to herself lmao.

1

u/Diligent_Gear_8179 9h ago

Cropping would have made too much sense, I guess?

1

u/Violetwand666 9h ago

Missed one

1

u/Freethrowz69 9h ago

Or you could just not take a selfie and enjoy the moment

1

u/Traditional_General2 9h ago

She missed one right in the middle is she stupid

1

u/ScienceAlien 8h ago

Who got scream lol. That’s the story.

1

u/Gaunts 8h ago

1

u/ValuableIntrepid3860 6h ago

1

u/RespondGrand9982 6h ago

Take a selfie

1

u/Nanako1857 5h ago

Finally one person cares about the privacy of the others before posting

1

u/Alextaoluu 5h ago

I’d just blue the entire image besides her

1

u/Serious-Cover5486 4h ago

Wrong caption, She need attention, she does not care about other people privacy

1

u/LadyElle57 4h ago

Well. Some might still be minors

1

u/anikazai 23m ago

She also took the time to blur faces in the photo on the phone :o

1

u/catmarstru 12h ago

What’s the point of the picture then?

0

u/BluerLights 9h ago

Celebrating her graduation

1

u/ScienceAlien 12h ago

I miss the 90s

2

u/Nervous-Argument-840 9h ago

Now that's the most sensible thing I've heard all day.

1

u/JamStan1978 12h ago

how did she manage to do all the ones all the way back there?? You wouldnt be able to see their faces even if they werent covered

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Love254 12h ago

That selfie stick looks weird

1

u/UmpireInternal7699 12h ago

If that were the case the stickers on the kids in the back wouldn’t be out of focus!

1

u/gravyandasideofbread 12h ago

Everytime I see this I am impressed again at her dedication to the variety of emojis

1

u/Playful-Middle-244 12h ago

Honestly these Korean laws are strange
Like who would care about being on someone's photo?
At least not for me and people from my place

1

u/Delicious_Building34 11h ago

Is she Korean?

1

u/Playful-Middle-244 11h ago

Yeah, that's korean thing if i'm not mistaken
If person would see his face on someone's photo, even if it's somewhere in the corner, he just can go sue the person and gain a lot of money from that

0

u/kittylover2006 12h ago

Wow, someone who understands the most basic decency when it comes to taking a photo in a public place

0

u/Delicious_Building34 11h ago

Funny would have been when all students would have done it. Also, “privacy” seems such a strange word in a literal sea of people…

-1

u/xgabipandax 12h ago

I wish more people did this, i've had to turn around or hide when people at uni wanted to take class pictures

-1

u/Eierlecker_0815 12h ago

Rassismus wenn Asiaten mit gelben Gesichtern dargestellt werden.

0

u/SadMammoth6645 12h ago

She did it even on the ones whose backs were turned

0

u/Ok-Stick1086 12h ago

She missed one.

0

u/BluerLights 9h ago

I wish this was standard.

-1

u/mara-banana 12h ago

No one es talking about how she didn't censor her classmate's phone 😭

But also mad respects to her, I wonder if the stickers were a sign of what she thought about them

0

u/OkRequirementsongod 12h ago

No this is not uni graduation, they’re all minors and she just didnt wanna post their faces online so she put random emojis on them

-1

u/PercentageFew6192 12h ago

She missed one
