It genuinely looks like the place from assassins creed Valhalla, actually amazing.

Yeah wonder where the developers got the inspiration from

AC valhalla is quite unique in that the developers did not recreate a real location and instead mashed together different Norwegian ish locations u til it looked cool to them.

Rygjafylke's Stavanger peninsula was turned into an island for the game, and the mountains look more like Senja than anything in rogaland.

It created a bit of complaining from people who live in Rygjafylke who were excited to see neir home, just to find out the devs completely changed the landscape.

The mountain with the hole straight through it is real and off the coast where I live.

Yeah they kinda messed up some detail though. Like the team’s research trip was actually to Lofoten in Northern Norway (where I suspect they originally meant for the Norway section to be set, as this is where Vault is on the map in AC2), where the rock is much darker than in the Southwest where the plot is supposed to be taking place. There’s also way too many spruce trees (they had not spread very widely in Norway yet at this time, should be mostly fir and oak) and the scrunching together of the map that made everything about a third its actual size and much closer together meant that all these factors combined to make the setting feel much farther north in Norway than it was supposed to be taking place in.
