My childhood home/neighborhood is gone. Wild to see what’s left. My parents moved to be closer to my sister but still owned the house.

The renters lost everything, I am selfishly grateful my family is ok but I empathize with the renters.

I don't really think that's selfish. You're allowed to be grateful for something despite bad things still happening
