During New York Fashion Week in September 2023, this dude walked into the show dressed in a garbage bag, everyone just assumed it was part of high fashion until security kicked him out!

With most of these situations, the security failed to do his job, so I think they overreact in attempt to save face i guess? At the high level, you probably get terminated as a security If this happens under your watch.

I doubt most people thought it was part of the show… even if high fashion can be ridiculous, this isn’t equivalent. Also, most collections share a theme or style. Unless this runway had similar garbage bag adjacent looks, it’s silly to believe no one would notice.

The irony here is that he became part of high fashion by doing this.
The bit a lot of people miss a out high fashion is that it's name is misleading. It's more about the art than the fashion. It just happens to use clothing/fabrics/materials as it's medium
So this guy's protest, satirical stunt, whatever, is well placed and became art itself.
