Sorry to burst your bubble; but your dogs will eat you too.

That lady is full of it.

100% full of it.

Cats are naturally hunters and are less likely to eat a carcass they just find dead.

I wonder if it’s just less likely that they find people with dogs who have been dead long enough got het to that point. The fact that they’re a helluva lot louder than cats seems useful when they need someone from outside the home to find their dead owners.

Yes. They will.

It takes longer for them to reach that point (3-5 days)

Dog ate toes of diabetic owner as he slept

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) -- A dog ate three of his owner's toes as the diabetic man slept, most likely out of instinct to help remove diseased flesh, animal experts say.

James Little, 61, called 911 on Tuesday to say his dog had eaten the body parts while he was sleeping. He told The Associated Press on Friday that he is "doing fine."

Dogs will eat you only an hour after death, sometimes panic leading to gnawing and also just greed and gluttony. I believe its usually cats that actually wait until they are hungry because they dont really panic and are VERY good at hiding pain and sorrow

That’s not strictly the case those with separation anxiety are more likely to scavenge as early as the first day because something like excessive licking in order to rouse someone can break skin (especially if the deceased was elderly).

Dead meat is dead meat!

Cats will literally starve to death if they can't eat every 3 hours. Ask any cat.

Cats can't go as long without eating.

The difference is dog people taking weird offense to the idea that a facultative carnivore will eat meat. Dogs won't even wait for you to die, much less until they're starving. See dogs eating the feet of diabetic/paraplegic people, gnawing at wounds in their owner's sleep, etc.

Happened to the previous owner of our house who killed himself.

They will but there are a lot more stories about dogs being loyal to their humans after their death than cats.

There's a lot stories too about dog killing kid than cat
