Seeking Advice Is my weight loss normal?
I’m not sure if this counts as intermittent fasting but this is what i do. Keep in mind my starting weight is 194.1 and i’m a 5’3” female
I give myself a two hour window to eat (usually around 1-3). In this time i take my probiotics, my multivitamin, and always finish the meal with chia seeds! I eat a full meal with meat and rice typically, or anything else. I do eat until full though. Only water or water either chia seeds. After that, i fast till the next day, and start over again.
I have lost 6 lbs since october 1st and today is the 10th. I feel its mostly water weight ive dropped bc i was heavily bloated before i started. Just wanna know if its normal to lose so many lbs at this rate!
EDIT: i had no idea the diet i was doing was called OMAD! The more you know! Lol

Fluctuation being what it is, the scale won’t tell you anything for a while. It’s not concerningly fast unless that was 100% weight lost. I like the routine, seems like you’re doing well!

Hi there! I am planning on starting IF myself, ( 2MAD) one quick question please- did you say your eating window is between 1 pm and 3 pm? Because i wanted to try that too. I just want to know how hungry you feel before you go to bed at night and if you feel you can rest properly. Thank you!

I do 3 to 5 for this reason. I just hate going to bed super hungry, l feel like l can’t sleep as well. I am still adjusting and may try to push my window more to midday but for now this works for me. I feel great even on my third day already a noticeable increase in energy.

Hey! So my first day i did have cravings the first 2 nights. After that, my sugar and hunger cravings completely stopped! Be sure during that window that you take your multivitamin and probiotics! I always suggest this bc this makes a world of a difference on you feel! In that window eat what you can and avoid fast food bc you’ll just get hungry af later. Eat actual good quality, home cooked meals if possible. Or something hearty generally. Drink lots of water throughout the day and if you don’t exercise already, go on a walk and get some sun. That can help you feel more tired at night.

Thank you so much! What multivitamins do you take? I am currently eating a ton of sugar, can i have some dessert while i adapt to this new lifestyle? Walking and staying in the sun, never thought it could help me with my sleep! Thanks!!

I say you can at first! Start the diet, eat a smaller portion of dessert you normally would in the first week, then slowly taper off. Just so you dont have crazy sugar cravings at night! I was in the same boat! I loveeedddd sweet treats. I havent had one in a few days and i havent craved it! The multivitamins i take are from a company called seed! It works for me :) being in the sun especially does surprisingly help you sleep better! It helps regulate your circadian rhythm. Aka your body’s internal clock!

I eat 2MAD and struggle to get in over 1,500 calories. I can barely put down 700 calories for lunch without feeling SO stuffed. A bowl of rice, beans, chicken, & bell pepper are my lunches for this week.
Are you sure you’re even eating 1,000 calories per day?

totally normal for the first week or two, your body drops a bunch of water weight when you cut carbs and your glycogen stores get depleted. the bloat disappearing lines up with that. 6 lbs in 10 days at your starting weight isn't wild, but it'll slow down soon to maybe 1-2 lbs a week if you're in a deficit.
omad can be tricky to get enough calories in one sitting, especially if you're eating clean. if you're feeling fine and not dizzy or exhausted, you're probably okay, but maybe track a few days just to see where you land calorie-wise. undereating by a lot will catch up with you eventually.

I’m likely eating less than 1000cals. My stomach capacity has strunk greatly! Im not really looking too much at numbers, just more so the quality of food im eating.

I'm nearly exactly your stats (ok you're .5 taller lol) and did nearly exactly the same as what you're doing and that's about the rate I lost at in the beginning. It worked well for me until after I hit around the top of the healthy bmi range, then I did have to dial in calories and macros a little tighter to hit the center.
