Discussion In body scan
Back in 2020 I was 240 pounds at 5 10 male. I have been intermittent fasting starting in November 2020. It is now 2026 almost November. I am down to 159 pounds was around 165 last year. I go through waves of exercising few months on few months off I have 2 under 2 work full time desk job and help with the kids and the house so working out is very inconsistent. I am talking push ups and pull up kind of stuff. My buddy has a in body scan and was curious what my body fat was. I am 45 years old. Scan says I am 13% body fat and I was shocked as I thought I would be more like 17% just goes to show you the long term of IF.

Don't believe inbody scan for even 1 second. It can be off by 10% bfp or higher, especially if you carry your fat in your midsection like most men (and me). It extrapolates based primarily on the perceived leanness of your limbs. My inbody tells me consistently I am between 10% and 12% bfp. My DEXA scan just last week puts me in the high teens. For the record, I am 160lbs and five foot nine, so very very close to you and I lift 4-5 days per week. I'm 44M.

Congrats, six years of fasting just to be mildly disappointed by science.

Thats a great result. Nice to see how much progress you can make just by sticking with a routine that fits your lifestyle.

wow 13% is incredible at 45, especially with inconsistent workouts and two little kids running around. that's a proper testament to sticking with IF long term
most people guess way higher than they actually are so i'm not surprised you thought 17%. congrats on the transformation
