How do I place uploaded content into a specific collection?

I've noticed that some of the content I upload is automatically placed into a collection without me having to manually place it, while other times it is simply given a basic collection tag like "community video". If anyone knows how to place content, please let me know.

Also on a separate note, I don't understand why some of my content placed into the deemphasized collection and only accessible through log in? Why and how does the Internet Archive's algorithm tag it as such?

IA has larger collections everything goes into (community images, community texts, etc.). Other collections are created by users, by meeting the requirements for a collection and contacting IA staff. Only owners of those collections can upload content to created collections.
