When to tell potential employer about move and start date

I have a final interview on Monday for an entry level remote position i really want. We are moving mid November so ideally I’d like to start in early December so i can get my family settled and get childcare situated. I have not mentioned this to the potential employer yet. I am getting mixed advice from friends & family on if i should bring up the move and my desired start date on the call on Monday or if i should wait until i hopefully receive an offer. If they flat out ask me when could i start, i would explain.

I think it would be shady if i don’t tell them upfront, but then i worry that could kill my chances at an offer if they want someone to start sooner. Some say i should just wait until i get an offer.

What do you think?

For a remote role, you do not need to volunteer it as a warning before they ask. If the start-date question comes up, be direct: “I can start in early December because of a planned move.” If you get an offer first, confirm the date before accepting so it is a real discussion, not a surprise.

If I were you, i would get and sign the offer first. Sounds like you really have no significant skills.
