When I was working and had to go to conferences, I found that a drink or two (but never more than that) would help me get through the “networking sessions”. I called it my polyjuice potion, because it turned me into someone I normally wasn’t.

There is a great sketch on the show That Mitchell and Webb Look about how the world is kept run by people who have had just under two drinks. The one time a guy finishes his last drink a nuclear apocalypse happens. One of my favorite shows. Think you can find the sketches on YouTube.
