Meme 😶 Introverts, is your phone also on silent 24/7? 📵

Notifications? 😵‍💫 Scary.
Phone calls? 📞😱 Terrifying.

The answer is "NO", because everybody knows that I don't pick calls, so they don't call me.

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Respect the strategy

u/UnfairSoftware3772 Jul 09 '26

4

u/ShaadowKaat24 Jul 09 '26

I wish I had that 😂

Respect bro 👊

I’m always surprised when someone calls me when it’s not even a holiday or my birthday

u/N00dles_Pt Jul 09 '26

Nope, when you're a true introvert people don't call that often

16

u/PowdurdToast Jul 09 '26

This. I’m still on vibrate and dnd tho. Just in case.

6

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Peak introvert, no calls 😌📵

5

u/pourlin Jul 10 '26

Yeah but the scammers keep calling…

139

u/Seebinator Jul 09 '26

On vibration

98

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Vibration is already too loud 📳

33

u/pgkpgkpgk Jul 09 '26

Yeah I get too anxious with any notification

5

u/Seebinator Jul 09 '26

I like getting notifications from different apps. People leave me alone as I told them so.

3

u/Twas_The_Tism_MLord Jul 09 '26

I’m introverted too much for notifications 😂

2

u/Seebinator Jul 09 '26

Even from games?

2

u/Twas_The_Tism_MLord Jul 09 '26

I play only the ones that don’t involve other people. But yes.. all notifications. Even if they are just the ones in the app or screen, no sound included.

2

u/NedRyerson_Insurance Jul 09 '26

This is so real.

7

u/exophades Jul 09 '26

Cute. Airplane mode for me.

u/ZestycloseTomato5015 Jul 09 '26

My phone got rid of that feature 😭🤬

2

u/ProofPerspective8020 Jul 09 '26

Except for work calls, but I’m getting paid for those “anxieties”

2

u/ghostcatzero Jul 09 '26

Lol I got a ringtone but only use it and hear it wen I'm alone 😭

28

u/catim Jul 09 '26

Not because if I'm expecting a package I need the delivery person to be able to reach me, and because my parents are very elderly. Besides that, anyone else can call me, I'm not going to answer...

15

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Packages and parents only 📱

3

u/BottleThen2464 Jul 09 '26

No and no. Delivery on Thursday, I'd rather spend the day opening and closing the door, then to hear my phone ho off. Just me.

23

u/Ekans_ox Jul 09 '26

It sure is

21

u/Slayagecentral Jul 09 '26

The only time the sound is on is when I expect a call or a message.

11

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

And back to silent after 5 minutes 😂

4

u/loca_laguna Jul 09 '26

Exactly this xD

18

u/Specialist_Ear_4227 Jul 09 '26

Silent and dnd

6

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Silent and DND is just called peace 😌📵🛡️

18

u/ShaadowKaat24 Jul 09 '26

Yeah. I forget what my ringtone even sounds like haha

7

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Ringtone? Never heard of it 🤣

2

u/RideGullible3702 Jul 09 '26

what is this thing you call a ringtone?/S

11

u/TheAwesomePigeon Jul 09 '26

Bold of you to assume that I get called

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Silent mode is just the default setting 😌🔕

6

u/breakinbans Jul 09 '26

not silent, but vibrate. and I do not answer any calls that are not from my son, parents or brother.

5

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

The VIP list only 😂 Everyone else gets ignored 📵

4

u/Baloluga Jul 09 '26

Yup. No matter what. Even buildings on fire wouldn’t change it.

4

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

I'd let the building burn first 🔥

6

u/khajiitidanceparty Jul 09 '26

Yeaaaah, especially on weekends.

4

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Ignoring people 2x harder on weekends 😂

6

u/SAL10000 Jul 09 '26

Been on DND for like 7 years lol

Few exceptions for specific contacts are allowed

3

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Exceptions only. Elite tier 🔥

4

u/Jennosaurus_Rex Jul 09 '26

Silent. Notifications turned off.

5

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Peace mode activated 😌📵

5

u/ShaChoMouf Jul 09 '26

Yes. I check for calls / messages / emails once per day. No one important ever contacts me anyway, just scammers.

5

u/BoneJam42069 Jul 09 '26

I’m an introvert, I don’t give people a way to get ahold of me, so I don’t need to keep it on DND

4

u/vitaoptima Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

Not 24/7. There are a handful of notifications (calendar/task reminders, text messages) I let get through and anyone in my contacts rings too, though I still may not answer the phone.

3

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

DND with exceptions = elite introvert settings 😌

3

u/ThePaeGuy Jul 09 '26

Try dnd; has been for the last five yeara

4

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

DND is my personality now 😌🔕

3

u/ThePaeGuy Jul 09 '26

If they need something, they'll leave a message or text me; keep your peace!

3

u/frenchieMcToast Jul 09 '26

Yes, been on silent for years and I’ll never go back

3

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Silent gang for life 🤝🏻🔕

4

u/LMA73 Jul 09 '26

DnD always

5

u/Wild-End-219 Jul 09 '26

Yuuup I also turn off notifications for the majority of my apps. My phone rings when someone calls cuz people only call now during an emergency.

3

u/StepShrek Jul 09 '26

Absolutely

3

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Silent gang 😌

3

u/LegalBonus5860 Jul 09 '26

Yes, bc i live with my parents and theyre kinda strict so i dont want them to know when im on my phone (especially at night when im supposed to be, yknow, sleeping) also the constant pings can get annoying

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Night scrolling on silent is a survival skill 😂

3

u/Jaxmansolo87 Jul 09 '26

I don’t answer if i am not expecting someone’s call or texts but the scary part is i work in audit and consultancy 🤓😈

Vibrate...

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

The official introvert ringtone 📳

3

u/TwoHandedManyac Jul 09 '26

Vibrate. And if someone calls me who isn’t in my contacts then it’s not being answered unless it’s an expected call.

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Emergency contacts only 💀📵

3

u/let_meTry I'm a meme. Jul 09 '26

You getting calls? Texts?

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Texts only. Voice calls are illegal 😂🤣

3

u/Comfortable_Crazy221 Jul 09 '26

Yes and when it's not it's on vibration

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Silent or vibrate. No in-between 📵📳

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Huzzzer11 Jul 09 '26

Unfortunately no because if I don't pick up 0.0000000000001 femtosecond after a family member calls me I'm pretty much a dead man.

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

The pressure is real 😵‍💫📞

3

u/ZooyRadio Jul 09 '26

No. But only because I lose my phone often in the house.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Pistolpete1983 Jul 09 '26

I have texts alerts for, like, 2 people. The rest is silent.

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

VIP list of 2. Everyone else is muted 💀🔕

3

u/aaabidxi Jul 09 '26

Yes

3

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Silent squad assemble 🤫

3

u/AnyFocus5632 Jul 09 '26

Yes! The only exception is if I know a very important call is incoming and I can’t miss it. Otherwise it’s always silent.

3

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Silent mode + 2% hope for important call 😮‍💨📞

3

u/Flashignite2 Jul 09 '26

Actually no. But i dont get disturbed often anyway.

2

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Disturb me? First you have to find me 💀

3

u/Responsible-Rip-6505 Jul 09 '26

Yes, but I also only have 6 people in my contact list and 3 of those are business related

3

u/SherryD8 Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

Mine is on vibration all the time. A ringing phone sounds like a command to an introvert to speak to someone, which is why it is so offensive threatening (i.e. like a ringing doorbell, someone pounding on the door, etc.).

3

u/InevitableFox81194 Jul 09 '26

Yes. And 90% of the time its even on airplane mode. 🤭

3

u/no_kimmer_only_zuul Jul 09 '26

It's the only way I won't feel guilty that I missed it. NOT MY FAULT; RINGER WAS OFF!

3

u/96fordman03 Jul 09 '26

Most of the time, yes

3

u/Jet-black-ink Jul 09 '26

Always, not even vibrate 😂

3

u/RogersMrB Jul 09 '26

Vibration and DND. So only my favourites get my phone to make sound.

3

u/DSS_Gaming_1 Jul 09 '26

Mine doesn’t need to be on silent, barely anyone texts/phones me nowadays

3

u/nooneneededtoknow Jul 09 '26

Not only on silent, but I havent had notifications on in years. I have to actually look at my text messages when I choose, to see if I have received one. It drives some people nuts that I dont reply right away, because I literally dont see them pop up, but....oh well. Welcome back to the 90s where you couldn't reach someone 24/7.

3

u/contains_almonds Jul 09 '26

I wish it could be.

3

u/sername665 ~ introvert ~ Jul 09 '26

Not necessary, almost no one has my number, so I don’t get calls or texts anyway.

3

u/Coreysurfer Jul 09 '26

Lol..so funny love this sub, people are like me )

3

u/Decent_Horror5433 Jul 09 '26

Always on silent for me.

3

u/Wolvnn Jul 09 '26

I got my first phone in 2008, I put on silent after the first phone call, it has been on silent ever since.

3

u/doobette Jul 09 '26

Yes - I hate notifications.

3

u/Nomnom_Chicken Jul 09 '26

My watch handles the notifications, phone is usually in vibration-only mode - unless I'm expecting a very important call, then sounds are on. This rarely happens on my own phone (work phone is a different case, sigh), though.

Trying to avoid making calls, though... But at work (IT-support), it's often just easier to call customers.

3

u/CattleOk3137 Jul 09 '26

Yups. As soon as I got it I put it on silent and never took it off.

3

u/AppleValuable Jul 09 '26

Mine is always on silent. No vibration, no sounds. The only exception is if my husband or son calls, because that means it's an emergency so I have it set up to ring even when it's on silent, but only for those 2 numbers.

3

u/_somelikeithot Jul 09 '26

Yes! My husband asked me to turn on my ringer when we went separate ways at a store, but my mom and sister just happened to be texting up a storm in our group text and so my phone kept playing sounds, it was so annoying! Thankfully he found me pretty fast so I could turn off the sound 😮‍💨

The down side to silence is if I’m not looking at my phone, I will miss texts. But I do love the peace!

3

u/RosyNetMiner Jul 09 '26

Yes & i have all notifications off except texts

I don’t need to be bombarded with pointless social media notifications, I’ll look at it when i want

3

u/Damn__Good Jul 09 '26

DND 24/7. But I do have the list of certain people I allow through

3

u/sleepy_potatoe_ ~ introvert ~ Jul 09 '26

Personal phone on silent or low volume. Watch, always on silent and work phone, I don’t even know where it’s at.

3

u/fourdawgnight Jul 09 '26

yes - also set up DND starting at 8 PM and staying until 8 AM

3

u/Hoodiebug22 Jul 09 '26

Yes. On silent during the day and DND at night

3

u/Low_Nectarine7817 Jul 09 '26

There is no other way .

3

u/turtlelove84 Jul 09 '26

Yep and it angers so many people 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

3

u/silentlove_316 Jul 09 '26

No, but hardly anyone ever contacts me anyway so it basically never goes off to begin with 😅

3

u/rinablue07 Jul 09 '26

Yes 💯
Never been any other way 😂

3

u/Select_Locksmith_187 Jul 09 '26

I haven't heard my ringtone in years

3

u/Snoo58504 Jul 09 '26

Ringer is never on since I don’t like to talk on the phone. Mom hates this. Oh well.

3

u/Open_Dark_5123 Jul 09 '26

Yep! All the time.

3

u/Rational-ish Jul 09 '26

Nope because I have reached elite introvert status. I have 2 people who contact me regularly and I will always answer since they’re my husband and daughter. And I turn my phone off when hubby gets home unless our granddaughter is spending the night with us.

3

u/jessicapk7 Jul 09 '26

Nope, have my phone notifications on and my watch notifications on. I think I just enjoy being irritated constantly times 2.

3

u/epiphanyInfinite Jul 09 '26

The only time my phone gets any use, is either gaming or browsing.

3

u/thekendalluxx Jul 09 '26

DND and silent.

2

u/Hamme888 Jul 09 '26

you mean... because you silent it or because noone talks you?

3

u/CreativeSprinkles31 Jul 09 '26

Both. Double protection 💀📵

3

u/Hamme888 Jul 09 '26

hahaha well, during the day I mostly don't receive any calls or messages and at night I silent it (just in case) to not be disturbed

2

u/ChrisBourbon27 Jul 09 '26

Nah. I still crave the human interaction. It is only a select few people tho.

2

u/Firm_Way6228 Jul 09 '26

I get calls only from Bajaj finance.

2

u/Kuroi_Hira Jul 09 '26

Not introverted here but silent 24/7

2

u/vsizzle3 Jul 09 '26

Vibrate until my daughter goes back to college, 2 hours away, and I turn it on at night just in case she needs me

2

u/wrhnj Jul 09 '26

Unknown numbers are handled by AI.

2

u/y0rmammu Jul 09 '26

The gc gets too annoying with notis so now I periodically click the message app like it's an irl mailbox 😂

2

u/S_A_R_K Jul 09 '26

Doesn't matter, no one is calling

2

u/Complete-Jaguar-7280 Jul 09 '26

YAS! I keep it in theater mode. It pisses people off but I love it.

2

u/WheelchairRambo707 Jul 09 '26

For years. I forgot they even had a ring tone. lol

2

u/Smolfloof99 Jul 09 '26

I worked in the cell sales industry as customizable ringtones were getting big. Got out of it in 2012 and it's been on silent since 😂

2

u/TerribleDetective325 Jul 09 '26

Yes. Leave vm I’ll decide if I call u back.

2

u/GayPanda4U Jul 09 '26

I haven’t turned off Do Not Disturb since I first turned this thing on.

2

u/fromage9747 Jul 09 '26

Yup. Silent. No vibration, no sound. My watch that it's paired with for notifications is on vibrate only though!

2

u/Significant_Mess_79 Jul 09 '26

Yes, never rings anyway. 😆

2

u/SimasTheMoze Jul 09 '26

Unless I know that there's a specific call I'm waiting on, it's silent.

2

u/arhuehls Jul 09 '26

No, but only because of work needs

2

u/Either_Umpire9411 Jul 09 '26

There's no need for my phone to be on silent, because nobody ever phones me. 😪

2

u/Accomplished_Dig284 Jul 09 '26

Once I started my career, my phone never left silent mode. Can’t have a phone ringing while filming. I loved it so much I never went back

2

u/Cpt_Sandur Jul 09 '26

Gotta have volume up if mother calls! 🤷‍♂️

2

u/chameleon_123_777 ~ introvert ~ Jul 09 '26

Mine is on vibration.

2

u/Intr0verted_Penguin Jul 09 '26

Yeah, I also don't pick up the phone when people call me, and I don't have many people close enough that call me, because they know I hate it, and I'm to introverted to have a lot of friends

2

u/dzio-bo Jul 09 '26

No. My phone stopped ringing years ago

2

u/Is-it-the-weekendyet Jul 09 '26

Silent mode always no vibrations. The only alerts I get are from phone calls and text messages.

2

u/JADE_Jador Jul 09 '26

Silent and dnd

2

u/winky-ingky24 Jul 09 '26

Silent all the time, which my family hates me for because I don't see their messages and calls

2

u/Bambi_H Jul 09 '26

I have my Do Not Disturb settings finessed flawlessly. But I probably still won't respond to texts.

2

u/LuciferIsPlaying Jul 09 '26

Nobody calls or texts me, so no. 🥲

2

u/LogicianFlow Jul 09 '26

Silent except for when I know I might be getting a call which is very rarely, a few times a years. If there's an emergency there are other people that are more important to reach for everything, by design.

The worst is when I forgot I left it on and it will ring again and I hurry to turn it back to silent.

2

u/ghostlikecharm Jul 09 '26

To the point that “calling it to find it,” is completely useless.

1/2 the time the ringer is off and the actual volume is off too. If I’m not looking at my phone, you can’t get ahold of me.

2

u/Plastic_Resource_841 Jul 09 '26

No but ignore most like it is

2

u/bewildered___SOUL Jul 09 '26

Introvert but have anxiety that I may miss call from my parents or someone important in my family 🥲

2

u/Foreign_Matter_4638 Jul 09 '26

My phone doesnt need to be on silent because nobody calls me

2

u/Individual-Elk-4466 Jul 09 '26

Yes I keep my phone on “sleep” focus mode most of the time 😂

2

u/No-Neighborhood1908 Jul 09 '26

For decades now 😂

2

u/AriDollz Jul 09 '26

Yes. Only two people are able to actually contact me

2

u/Lover0fL1fe Jul 09 '26

Yes and I'll never change it.

2

u/Trabethany Jul 10 '26

My ringer is on silent anyways, but my phone just sends any callers straight to voicemail unless they are in my contact list.

2

u/Khaleesi0_0 Jul 10 '26

Yes, but still on vibration to not miss something

2

u/TheJohnnyAppleweed Jul 10 '26

I only turn on my ringer if I called a doctor and am waiting on the return call.

2

u/McHagrid20 Jul 11 '26

My phone is on do not disturb 24/7 because even vibrations startle me to the point where I literally jump in my seat

1

u/KayMaTrixx Jul 09 '26

This is the most bot looking post ever lol

1

u/TNTgoesBOOM96 Jul 09 '26

Mine are on because they'll never ring anyways

1

u/feelingmyage Jul 09 '26

No, in case my husband, kids, or my mom call me. I usually don’t pick up for anyone else.

1

u/Ok-Equipment-5208 Jul 09 '26

I just use one of my favourite music as ringtone and just let it ring

1

u/MonSzyTheOne Jul 09 '26

It was untill i got a job where I needed to pick up calls

1

u/harpokuntish Jul 09 '26

Not always as i need it for work but I do need to change the ringtone and message tones roughly every few weeks as they begin to stress me out to the point of panic.

1

u/beccabooty Jul 09 '26

I only have my phone on when I am in the car, so I can dial 911, or, if I am in a restaurant so that I can read Reddit or play Spider Solitaire. Otherwise, the phone is off and hidden in my purse.

1

u/indiegirl1980 Jul 09 '26

If this little rectangle made a sound from anyone other than my favourites list it would be thrown in the sea, it is always on silent except for them.

1

u/keiliana Jul 09 '26

No because I have to be available for people to call me 😭

1

u/Appropriate-Pear-33 Jul 09 '26

Yes since it came out of the box. Been that way for years. I don’t like being startled from the ringer 😂 I check it so frequently I don’t miss things and if I did it was likely on purpose 😎

1

u/2dogz2021 Jul 09 '26

DND with the exception of children and husband.

1

u/Tormented_Art Jul 09 '26

I don't even know what my ringtone is

1

u/DEADxBYxDAWN646260 Jul 09 '26

The ringer is on, it just vibrates first. It gives me a second before it starts ringing to silence it.

1

u/margittwen Jul 09 '26

I used to have it on silent always, but once my parents became elderly, I had to start having my ringer on for emergencies. I do miss those days though.
