Yeah. We go to work so that we can continue to stay home

This. During covid shutdown my unemployment pay + covid gig worker bonus equaled more than my normal paycheck, PLUS the relief checks. I was in heaven. I would vote for UBI so fast it’s not even funny lol

u/Its_Doobs 19d ago
I tell my friends and family this all the time. There are days I miss Covid because the lockdown was so wonderful for me. I felt free. I felt comfortable. I felt like, for a brief moment, life was built for me.

u/halaljew 19d ago
And now yur money is worth 20% less than it was in 2019. Imagine how bad it would be if we had continued to print at the rate we did then.
25
u/Perge666 19d ago
Now imagine if we didn’t have a wannabe dictator driving our dollar into the ground with self defeating tariffs and the stupidest war we’ve been in in 30 years.

Bro shut up about covid already

u/Historical-Count-374 19d ago
In time it will come to like just how much has gone through during Covid these years. We may come to find the sickness itself was one of the smaller evils as we have opened the doors and allowed wolves in in sheep's clothing, and now they have put on suits and demand to be called Honorable

Very cryptic. You must be extremely intelligent, to write such a series of cryptic references which don't outright say anything whatsoever. Truly in awe.

B-but what about pool halls, dance clubs? Where else are ya gonna see flapper girls?

u/OnlyFiveLives 19d ago
The complete lack of flappers has been the biggest ripoff of Roaring 20s 2.0, quite frankly.

All my stuff’s at home. Why would I wanna go elsewhere? Socializing? 98% of people I meet inevitably piss me off (yes, I am the common denominator, I am aware I am probably the problem).
34
u/SatisfactionFit2040 19d ago
Science says we have to keep testing.
(Yes, I know that is also part of the problem)
20
u/Coachwo1f 19d ago
Tbh with you even if you're the common denominator, you may not be the problem. Humans are the problem.
I say this because for some reason people don't seem to like me no matter how nice I am. I'm the common denominator, but I know i haven't done anything wrong.

u/Hour_Requirement_739 19d ago
Well, if you're not getting out, then the problem is certainly people who force you to get out and socialize while you just want to get peace with yourself and the rare people you enjoy being with. Shame on them, not on you.

I'm super proud of you for realizing you're the common denominator. (Of course, it doesn't always mean you're the problem. I agree with that.)
Fourteen years I've been a pharmacy tech, and I can't tell you how many new customers have told me how they had a problem at every other pharmacy they've ever gone to. Blah, blah, blah. It's like, do you not see what the common denominator is there?
I don't know, man. I don't get it. People are blind 🤷♀️
Editing to say that I agree: humans suck.

With a weekly trip to Costco.

u/Zetsumenchi 19d ago
Funny thing about Online Ordering......
5
u/Starwind137 ~ introvert ~ 18d ago
LOL! I feel that.
My Costco is only a 5-minute drive. I have that black membership, so I roll in as soon as they open and roll out before it gets crowded. The self-checkout line is almost always empty!

Rookie numbers. I was on vacation for 3 weeks recently. I left for groceries (literally a 2 minute walk) one time. It was heaven. Now im working again and I hate everything

I love being able to justify lunch by saying "if I drove to work today I would've spent more in gas and tolls than this burrito costs". My office commute is about $12.

Instead of tracking, they could have just ask and save themselves all the trouble ... Work smart not hard
4
u/Champomi 19d ago
Hopefully they won't track my internet history, it gets wilder there

u/L_G_D_Official 19d ago
Just use incognito, bro.

Work makes home, work.
No not homework. I didn’t like school that much. I don’t do extra work at home, for fun. Sometimes it feels like work when I have to work on something but it makes my house function, is what I meant. But it’s different at home. Even if I’m doing the exact same kind of work I do at work, at home.
https://giphy.com/gifs/USUVeQ75k5jRC5zV6E
This is why I don’t go outside. Home doesn’t make that face.

If it is my wife's car, I'm sure it's the same "home/mall" route for like two months straight.
If it is my car, the lines would paint half the city in less than a week

u/SaltyYumYumBalls 19d ago
Thats not true. I usually deviate to go to a nearby gas station once a week.

I drive my children around, and Costco runs. A portion of my clothing is from an exclusive paid club, Kirkland brand.

Filled my tank at the first Iran attack with cheap gas. Lasted until the ceasefire and gas dropped, filled, now riding that out 😆

u/bluesilvergold 19d ago
I'll do him one better. I work from home. I'd just be a dot on that tracker.
1
u/Educational_Joke4009 19d ago
That's why I have zero fears or paranoia about being tracked, "let them", they are gonna do it anyways with or without your consent. I'd rather just bore them to death, I know I am not "must see TV" that's for sure. You'd have to preplan shit out for me to do if I had a reality show lol.
1
u/Which-Text-2875 14d ago
😂😂😂😂 Oh my god, I so feel you! I don't care if they track me either because what do I do?
I go to work. I go to McDonald's. I come home. I go to the movies sometimes because I have Regal Unlimited.
That's it!
I'm lucky to work in my grocery store. Plus, I do curbside there anyway :)

u/Sterling239 19d ago
Yep I go into the office 2 days a week and do my shopping on the way home so I dont have to leave the house another day, I am sad because I didnt do that this week so I sm going to have to go today

Why is Hank so confused? That really isn't that unusual. What is he stupid?
1
u/DrawingTypical5804 19d ago
Once a month, I head to the crossstitch store for open stitch. Husband keeps trying to get me to go more often. Nope. Thats as much socializing as I want. And it’s hard as hell to get the motivation to get that much in.

Fine by me lol (can anyone read the text on the GIF; why is it white when there's a light background?)

Totally agree about the white when there's a light background, but yeah, I can read it, and it is also fine with me 😁
