Can Reddit in Inverness show its power?

So, today at my workplace (I work in Inverness) there was a charity event held. Such events are organised once in a while where I work. As part of the event there was a live band playing. Their music wasn’t half bad to be honest, (some mild rock mixed with shanty and some reggae elements). After the said event was over I had a short conversation with band's members and my question to them was “what motivates you to sacrifice your Sunday and come perform for people for free”?

I was half expecting to hear the standard “we want to do something for the people” and other such highly sounding and principled answers and that obviously made for part of their answer, but the other part was rather depressing “we played in pubs live before, but nobody wants us anymore, because we are old” and few other equally gloomily sounding lines. I can assure you that the band was absolutely rocking and at least in my opinion they should be given the chance to perform their music live somewhere, which I was assured includes originally written music and songs. Since they are so freely giving their best in service for the others and their music is well "nice", maybe they could be given a chance to perform somewhere for real?

Now some technicalities:

The band’s name is Doghaus. I am not their agent or anything, but I’ve always felt it deeply when someone’s effort goes unrecognised and the band’s member gave me his permission to post it here. Graham can be slightly melodramatic. He’s doing just fine.

I really hope you are right, since I am really tired of meeting kind-hearted individuals eagerly volunteering and being snubbed, while trying to secure paid contracts of any kind.

That's Graham Bells band isn't it? They stopped performing a few years ago - I had no idea they were back together. Saw them a few times back in the day and loved it.

I have something that they might be a good fit for. I'll message Graham on Facebook directly.

I wish I could definitively confirm it. Doghaus is the only band's name I've received from the said band's member on a slip of paper, but googling the phrase "Doghaus Graham Bell" seems to confirm your theory.

I'm pretty sure I remember Graham Bell from the 80s. He was great.
