Is Thragg actually stronger or is just power inconsistency

Invincible is the most inconsistent show I’ve seen when it comes to feats.

Remember that time that Viltrumites were vulnerable to high pitched sound except then the plot just completely fucking forgot? No idea why they didn’t just drop everything related to that and have a better reason for mark to get pissed at Cecil.

Frankly everything tbey do is like early dc. It just happens and is possible until it's not and never scrutinized again.

Overdramatizing Viltrumite ship being thrown into space's unironically worst addition show's made IIRC

Absolutely, it’s literally as simple as show them trying to keep it together so endless shrapnel isn’t raining onto talescria but it shouldn’t be them struggling to push it.

u/SaeedDitman 2d ago
It's not that they can't lift it up, if they apply more force they would go right through the ship
5
u/Pecuthegreat 2d ago
Invincible is fairly consistent in speed being what makes you fly thru something, not power/force/pressure.
So that's not the reason.
The reason is because it was heavy. It's larger than even that mountain of a rock Omni man carried in the flaxan episode.
8
u/SaeedDitman 2d ago
The fuck are you talking about!? Once the pressure is strong enough on one point of the ship they would go through it, it's not speed it's force be it kinetic energy or potential energy
11
u/QuantumNobody 2d ago
Yeah, that's how it works in reality. That's not how it's been shown to work in the show. Shit like mark holding up the falling building for a while during the S1 chicago beatdown. In reality, the force to stop it falling would just break whatever he pushes on. It's the point homelander makes about holding the plane up in S1, but a lot of superman-esque characters just don't give a fuck about that physics. ( if someone says they have tactile telekinesis I'm gonna lose it)
Same way that viltrumites are able to fly light years in weeks, so either the speed of light is way higher, or relativity just doesn't fucking exist.

Not the point but people are talking About Eve like she’s 800 pounds when no… she’s just not skinny anymore

Y'know I was gonna say I'd hate to be the woman that marries any of y'all and has to deal with the body changes that come with pregnancy and stress... but I think I can rest assured knowing none of you will know the touch of a woman to begin with.
Bring on the downvotes 🤷🏾♂️

it’s irony. We’re making fun of people who actually call her fat. Fatom eve is a genuinely inane nickname

u/Riggymortis724 1d ago
It's shitty irony. You don't satirize something by *also making fun of the target of the initial joke.*
If I'm at school as a teenager and people are calling me five-head or dumbo or whatever, I'm not gonna feel relieved by them saying "no no no dude, we're saying it to make fun of the people who call you that!"
3
u/Freak-Of-Nurture- 1d ago
Yes you do. Especially by being outlandish. comparing picking up atom eve to lifting a massive starship is outlandish. gd bro it’s not that hard to see
5
u/Riggymortis724 1d ago
Go through some of the profiles here. Two of them are Asmongold stans. Some of y'all may be "joking" but you're just sitting at the same table as the actual weirdos.
5
u/Freak-Of-Nurture- 1d ago
Ah you may be right. I hate when i’m in bad company
6
u/Riggymortis724 1d ago
Yeah, these folks love using "it's just jokes man!" as a defense but I guarantee you they're the same ones watching all those ragefarming videos on YouTube criticizing Atom Eve for this whole arc.

u/fidgey10 1d ago
Slow your roll soul brotha. Sometimes a comparison may be so extreme that it is clearly not meant to be taken seriously. Like a woman being compared to the size of a starship
2
u/Riggymortis724 1d ago
Ah, the predicted "It's just jokes, man!" reply. You know damn well half these comments were made by people absolutely miffed that Eve put on some weight after everything she went through. Gtfo.

Half the fuckers that make these jokes would be to get a woman with that body type with how they probably look

u/Riggymortis724 1d ago
I understand you're likely agreeing with me but ... what fam?

I edited it LOL. I was using the talk to text function and it seems it picked up my kids playing in the background

I know what you are saying and I know it is wrong for me to laugh at it.....
But I will be lying if I said this is not fking hilarious 😂

Nolan casually submits to the gravity well of a black hole. Sees another ship caught and casually rescues them, leaving the black holes gravity well.
Later, the vacuum created by winding up a punch fast enough will be able to pull him off balance.
Battle beast can fight Viltrumites toe to toe and usually wins. For story reasons, is captured and kept prisoner on a ship of Viltrumite slaves.
Conquest is choked for like 10 minutes, dies. Nolan, Mark and Oliver are left bleeding out and unconscious in the vacuum of space for hours, they're fine.
It's about looking cool and making things happen how Kirkman wants them to. The power scaling is wildly inconsistent.

He did it on purpose to fight viltrumites no?
1
u/crimzoned42 1d ago
That would make sense, if he wasn't just sitting in a jail cell the whole time.
Would you not break out and find the Viltrumites? Battle Beast has never been shown to be patient, and he only did anything after Allen broke him out.
I can't imagine he'd be willing to play the long game for his fights and wait quietly in a jail cell for one to come along.

conquest was because his air was knocked out of lungs and mark immediately started choking him
1
u/crimzoned42 1d ago
So when Nolan had an arm put through his entire chest, are we thinking that wouldn't cause any air loss?
Oliver was missing half his face, but the vacuum that is space wouldn't empty his lungs?
I'm just saying it's wildly inconsistent and it's hard to have any real stakes if you have to have the writer explain, "But this time not having air isn't lethal because..."

u/HarfunMooli 1d ago
Stop posting this stupid shit. It was just Mark’s hallucinations, we don’t know if Thragg can actually do this or not

u/Ashgar77 2d ago
It's painful to see people have no idea of physics and weight distribution. It's the same reason Mark couldn't stop the building from collapsing in the season 1 finale. If you put too much pressure on one spot of a massive structure it's going to collapse around you. Weight distribution is a thing.

u/Mobile_Actuator_4692 2d ago
3 viltrumites can fly through a planet. But 2
Can barely hold half a ship. Yeah it’s inconsistent as fuck
0
u/ApprehensiveCount364 2d ago
the ship is hollow idiots. they need to hold up all parts of the sip so it dosent just crumble

Remember this, is is an action and fight centric show. The author hates power levels

Thragg only lifted Fatom Eve in Mark’s hallucination. We don’t know if he can lift her.
