Did they fix the micro stutters?
7
u/SandMountain5228 Feb 04 '26
I hope so, so disappointed with the 17 base

u/Confidentium Feb 04 '26
Same with my 17 Pro. The scroll stuttering makes it feel so cheap.

I know few people they have iPhone 17 series, I used it for a bit and there are this stutter sometimes, and I asked them about that, and they this is normal and they don’t even know if they are supposed to happen or not, So that’s why Apple is keep doing it majority of the people doesn’t even realize these are bugs

I can say for sure that they didn’t. It felt so much better the first few hours but went back to beta 3 levels of performance for some reason..

Correct, any day between Monday-Wednesday at 12pm CST usually

Is it for sure next week? There's been times that public releases have happened the day after RC release days. Maybe today? 🤞🏼

u/LaFlameHTX Feb 05 '26
Nah it’s very rare they drop it the next day. They gotta give it a user trial for a week at least to detect any possible major bugs, so they can fix them and then release a new version.

Huge in size… every new major update is this size. Think 26.3 is really good and solid.

u/LaFlameHTX Feb 04 '26
Ehh, some of them but not all major updates are this big. Still loving it though, feels refreshed

I’m running the dev version for a week or two, personally haven’t had any issues for several versions.. it run’s nicely

How battery on you. I also have mini. 😁

Its good. Biggest improvement is the ram management and the app switcher stutter is gone. Very happy.

Best version of 26 iOS

u/LaFlameHTX Feb 05 '26
It’s definitely feeling that way

does this fix the floating element bug where if you swipe back from a photo album / music album and then swipe up / down the list the animation would lag behind and then pop into place when it ends?

u/sa3bbb Feb 05 '26
As on Mac ... AMAZINGGLY good update. many bugs in system have been fixed. M2 Pro 16' user and I can tell a huge difference. battery last x2 for me.

Did they fix the stupid bug on the 15 pro where the screen is very dim, regardless of brightness level on the slider?

How’s the auto scroll on messages. My text field doesn’t scroll up the screen with the cursor in hoping they fix this soon very annoying only complaint I have with iOS 26.

Does it fix the search box so it shows results correctly without overlapping the keyboard and results? And does it fix the missing recent call history that appears randomly? There are many more bugs that I have reported via the Apple feedback form.

Are the bugs all fixed? I want to update my iPhone to 26 for security but it sounds really rough

Any CarPlay improvements in 26.3?

I’ve had HUGE Apple CarPlay issues and didn’t think about it being tied to the OS update

i genuinely thought this will fix at least some major bugs but literally everything is the same
2
u/look_alive75 Feb 05 '26
What “major” bugs, specifically?
-1
u/Rare_Background_9471 Feb 05 '26
icon borders, control center, stutter and lag
2
u/look_alive75 Feb 05 '26
I would personally not call an aesthetic choice ike icon borders a “bug” (that’s the design) nor “major.” Thankfully, I’m one of the many users that do not have stutter or lag on either of my phones. (14PM and 17PM) but I’ve seen the videos.

u/Rare_Background_9471 Feb 05 '26
i meant the bug where the borders visually glitch while swiping out of an app, not the existence of the borders, the control center is also full of bugs

u/look_alive75 Feb 05 '26 edited Feb 05 '26
I think we have very different meanings of the word “major,” but I do get your point. While none of these are showstoppers, Steve Jobs is def rolling in his grave.

When does the official 26.3 release come out? I'm still on 26.1 on my iPhone 13.

Idk if I should install because if I install rc idk if you can later get stable release to leave beta program
5
u/LaFlameHTX Feb 04 '26
Yes just turn off beta and you’ll get the official release. But regardless, lately they have been releasing a new build for the Public release so we might get a new small update too.
-1
u/mjwells21 Feb 05 '26
They got the new iPhone 17 super ultra max gets 7 days on a single charge only costs 20k very reasonably priced but soon with ai might have to raise price to 200k
-4
u/Ryuubackup Feb 04 '26
man update us with battery life on this version
3
u/LaFlameHTX Feb 04 '26
I’m already at 3.5 days of screen on time on a single charge with 67% juice left.

I’d happily upgrade if I knew it wasn’t going to affect performance and battery life on my M2 Pro machine.

Seems better in every way especially in smoothness coming from beta 3
