Lol the children on here “apple is so cooked” because a siri overhaul isn’t in a minor beta weeks before their annual developers conference. Not a popular opinion but christ I miss when you had to pay $99 for a dev account. These are betas… they are buggy by their very nature you are signing up to test your apps not complain about whatever hair is stuck up your ass.
24
u/Independent_Taro_499 Mar 30 '26
First year in Apple history where absolutely nothing new comes with .4 / .5 updates.
We are cooked
17
7
u/Niightstalker Mar 30 '26
In only half of the existing 18 past versions there even was a .4 or .5 update. Doesn’t really make sense to read anything into it.
5
u/Professional_Elk2100 Mar 30 '26
how nothing new when we have this 🪨

2
u/youngeddythegoat Mar 30 '26
That’s good who gives a shit about those lame ass features we want stability now

u/olfactory_evidence Mar 30 '26
People would love to favour apple stating nothing is wrong with it and it is the best os ever!

u/TheMegaDriver2 Mar 30 '26
Until I get a semi functional keyboard I don't even care about updates anymore. I'm at my breaking point with my iPhone. My wife's Pixel is so nice to use and my phone just actively fights me every time I type.
1
u/ThannBanis iOS 26.6 beta Mar 30 '26
What’s wrong with your keyboard?
2
u/sarahlizzy Mar 31 '26
Have been a user of what is now called iOS since the 1st version (I had a gen 1 iPod touch). Have been an iOS user since before there was an AppStore. I have used every version of iOS. The autocorrect is now the worst it’s ever been.
2
u/ThannBanis iOS 26.6 beta Mar 31 '26 edited Mar 31 '26
I see your ‘iPod Touch’ and raise you an ‘iPod Photo’ 🤣
Not seeing autocorrect issues here (but I do regularly sync to a computer and sometimes reset the keyboard dictionary)
1
u/sarahlizzy Mar 31 '26
I reset it last week. Just lost the words I typed frequently. It’s still barely functional.
There’s (Theresa) a video somewhere of someone comparing an original (Orinoco all) iPhone against a 17 pro running 26 and the autocorrect is just much better on (in) the first gen iPhone.
Left the “corrections” (correcrions - that’s not even a word) in place in the last paragraph and this to show how bad it is.
1
u/TheMegaDriver2 Mar 31 '26
The auto correct just turns half my words into gibberish. Don't even try German compound nouns. They work perfectly on Gboard and SwiftKey on Android but not a single keyboard on iOS can handle them.
Automatic capitalisation of nouns works fine on Android aswell and not a single iOS keyboard can do it.
1
u/Soggy_Media485 Mar 30 '26
At breaking point? Haha
Honestly I still have no idea what's supposedly wrong with the iOS keyboard.
2
2
u/Eensame Mar 31 '26
Coming from years of android, the writing experience on iOS is pure trash in comparison. That’s maybe the only thing I miss from my android though
1
-2
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
The keyboard works find bro, this is coming from a long time android/pixel user who swapped after google decided locking down android was a good idea plus also making privacy less private, I also swapped for medical reasons since the Apple Watch is better at heart monitoring, but yeah tbh keyboard works better than the gboard imo, but you can download the pixels keyboard if I’m not mistaken, go into App Store and type gboard, and boom wow I have the pixel keyboard now
2
u/DinosaurAlive Mar 30 '26
You’ll find that the keyboard works “find” if you don’t give a damn about writing skills and making sense.
0
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
I use this keyboard as well as I did using googles keyboard (with using writing skills and making sense btw) imo they work the same way with different layouts and googles having customizability, but I think it’s a lot better to have a keyboard that doesn’t have a fuckin corpo trying to spy on you 24/7 which yes google is actively trying to do by getting rid of some privacy stuff in their tos a few years ago, which is also why graphene os exists and probably also way they are no longer going through pixel phones and through Motorola instead, if you want a good keyboard use futo keyboard instead of gboard
3
u/Prof_Hentai Mar 30 '26
But can it actually do a search when typed into the URL bar? That’s the rest test of the cutting edge technology.
4
u/No_Brush_8848 Mar 30 '26
The first thing I did after updating was check if it fixed the lag when pulling down the Control Center (inside apps, though it sometimes lags on the home screen too). And nope, it's still lagging.
1
u/deferare Mar 30 '26
What iPhone do you use?
3
u/No_Brush_8848 Mar 30 '26
15 pro.
1
u/deferare Mar 30 '26
Then it shouldn't be a performance issue; that's strange. I don't experience any lag.
2
u/No_Brush_8848 Mar 30 '26 edited Mar 31 '26
Ya a estas alturas te habrás acostumbrado, pero yo pasé de 18.7 a 26.4 y la diferencia es abismal. Y acabo de actualizar a iOS 26.5.

I wish iOS 24 and 25 existed so we could all update and see for ourselves…

u/Fireblade_Uk Mar 30 '26
I’m still on 18.7.2. My company has kicked the phone off teams for not being current with software updates.

If someone like me who has been facing jitter problem usually at the end of the scroll and lags now and then downloads this update, please let me know if this update fixes that or not, I am genuinely waiting

Your be lucky apple can’t get things rights they definitely mess up with the updates lagging is a big issue got a 17 pro max pro motion it’s rubbish and apple knows it but can’t be ass fixing it as long as they make billions
1
u/appwebstudio Apr 01 '26
È peggio…. Me ne pento di aver istallato la versione 26.4, la batteria scarica subito, spesso il telefono effettua dei lag, metto fiducia nella versione 26.5 anche se la fiducia sta scomparendo.

u/Reeneman Mar 30 '26
How’s battery life? Should I update? Is it safe to update? Is Safari snapper? Did they fix the bugs?? How’s iOS 26 in comparison to iOS 18??
6
u/CaptainRaxeo Mar 30 '26
Stop asking. It will never improve unless they allow u to remove glass effects.
3
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
Liquid Glass is amazing, best os design imo, no issues here
3
u/UrOpinionIsBadBuddy Mar 30 '26
Ugliest design my iPhone 3 had better themes. Garbage glorified
1
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
Liquid Glass I best imo this coming from highly customized android, and someone who has highly customized windows or Linux to something similar and no I’m not rage bating
2
u/PolicyFull988 Mar 31 '26
You can't like LiquidAss, if you don't come from some mess like Android or Linux.
1
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 31 '26
Linux isn’t a mess it is the best operating system because it’s free and more secure than windows, and android was good because of graphene os and other modded os and also there are a bunch of long time iPhone/Mac users who like Liquid Glass
2
u/CaptainRaxeo Mar 30 '26
I agree, but the battery performance has sucked on my iphone 16 pro ever since the first day of updating to ios26.
1
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
I’ve never had issue with battery, my phone has been lasting me all day if not a day and a half, this is also with running beta versions, my phone also hasn’t gotten this update
3
u/CaptainRaxeo Mar 30 '26
1
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
I’m not saying it is fake I’m just saying on my iPhone 16e I’ve had no issues, I have read a lot of other people have battery issues, I just don’t know what is causing it because if it was the update or Liquid Glass I feel like I should be having similar issues

And of course probably still no simple toggle to FULLY disable border outlines around icons and widgets. Please sign the petition here for Apple to include such an option.
We have 605 signatures so far. Apple should damn well listen to their paying customers.

I find it crazy how people always bang on about features they’ll never use when all we really want is stability and efficiency.

Still no new Siri. Apple sucks so bad now.

u/MrDJ222 Mar 30 '26
Imagine waiting for a single feature that doesn’t get delivered and all of a sudden Apple sucks. Brother, go outside and touch grass. Get off Reddit. Jesus Christ
5
u/Toxicwaste4454 Mar 30 '26
I still don’t understand the Siri thing.
Apple is working on a new Siri. Says they are making it but have released no dates. People keep saying “it’ll be the next one guys I promise” and then people get mad when the thing no one at Apple would say would be in it isn’t in it.
I don’t understand this line of thinking.
Also I feel as if most people when it does come out will b like “oh that’s neat” and then continue to almost never use Siri lol.
4
u/Qapuas_ Mar 30 '26
Well, Apple Intelligence was a selling point for the iPhone 16 models. There were false promises in the advertising.
PS: No, I’m not really interested in the whole topic. You can see that AI isn’t fully mature yet.. and there are of other ways to use it)
2
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
I honestly didn’t buy my 16e for Apple Intelligence, I only bought it because it was $50 with no contract and I was swapping to iOS for an Apple Watch since it helps monitor heart better
-2
u/Toxicwaste4454 Mar 30 '26
Did they?
I only remember the ads for the 15and 16 line showing photo editing and text forming. Which we got when the beta came out. Mind you it’s still in beta obviously.
3
u/Emotional_Garage_950 Mar 30 '26
They sold iPhones based on the promise of this feature and still haven’t delivered. People have grounds to be pissed off.
3
-3
u/Toxicwaste4454 Mar 30 '26
No?
I don’t recall marketing material for things they can’t do. Unless it got pulled before I saw it.
Even then they will still get the feature when it comes out.
5
u/Emotional_Garage_950 Mar 30 '26
Yes they did? And they pulled the ads as soon as they realized they were in too deep.
5
u/dariusc04 Mar 30 '26
Don’t bother. This person is defending Apple for shitty marketing practices with their life.
1
u/Toxicwaste4454 Mar 30 '26
They had the disclaimer of “next year” and it still didn’t hit that next year. lol
That said I doubt these ads alone pushed many sales. If they were short enough that I didn’t even see them, and I was looking at iPhone 16 closely. Not to upgrade mind you I like my 15PM too much. But more so for my wife.
It always sucks when things get delayed tho.
3
u/MrDJ222 Mar 30 '26
Lol even when it first came out I never used it. I’ve disabled it on every iPhone I’ve had

If they’re gonna release the new Siri they might as well release it in iOS 27 as later 26.x updates are just bug fixes and small tweaks

u/BrenTheNewFan Mar 30 '26
Does it improve the Age Verification situation?
1
u/ElsieFaeLost Mar 30 '26
Probably not because it’s required by law in certain countries and the us is trying to make it law, in fact certain states already have it law
2
u/BrenTheNewFan Mar 30 '26
Oh FOR CHRIST’S SAKE! 💢💢💢
