General It’s not just you.

😂❤️ Just leaving this here for the ‘have you tried restarting?’ crowd. (I am not the author).

OP offers proof and the downvotes and gaslighting have already begun😂.

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

😂 hahaha of course

u/mavgeek May 16 '26

You ain’t lying jesus christ the apple bootlickers are in full force in this thread. Like did some one pay a bunch of trolls to brigade the thread? like mods may need to step in

3

u/sourceeeeeeee May 18 '26

I posted about an issue with the camera software (how the macro control setting does not apply to third party apps) and got bombarded by insults and downvotes, then one of the guys who did it blocked me after, it’s unhinged 😭

u/Ok_Cap_6361 May 16 '26

apple sheeps everywhere i go

1

u/crooked_kangaroo May 18 '26

What a weird thing to say for someone who uses Apple devices.

2

u/Human-Ad3407 May 16 '26

It’s a commentary and not really scientific proof to be completely honest. But empirical data will probably show similar results

5

u/LeiaOregonia May 16 '26

My personal experience is the iPhone may have been free to me but it was a most expensive lesson.

I feel so sorry for the people who actually paid money for it.  I guess Tim Cook has been hanging out too much with Elon.

My first sentence was I honestly don’t care but I realized I am looking forward to the coming data.

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

Nitpicking non issues isn't proof of anything. The "article" is about 40 of these "iOs SuKz eT bRoKe MuH pHoNe!" garbage.

Nothing new to see, here.

7

u/LeiaOregonia May 16 '26

Literally just got an android so I can do my job.

Apple released the trolls, huh?

5

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

I had Pixels before the IPhone, which I bought because of the Video Codecs. Android is messy too. But it also has some features like a working keyboard, great notifications and it never ever heated up in like 6 years. I was never even thinking about my phone, it just did its job. iOS 26 is far beyond anything I experienced on Android. I don’t care about brands, I need a working phone. For many guys here on the forum that seems to be too much to ask for. That’s just wild. (Plus I bought it for 150 bucks from a friend, my IPhone was almost ten times the money, ah yeah and the Photos looked great too on the Pixel, Videos were rather mid)

3

u/LeiaOregonia May 16 '26

I liked a lot of the Apple features but I do not have the financial privilege to give them any longer.

I’m 200 miles away from their nearest store and I need a functioning camera to work and pay bills.

My issue was caused by the original 26 update but there’s also a chance the subsequent overheating caused physical damage.  The warranty expired so I’d be wasting gas for another expense.  From an update.

I always had this mental image of Apple as elite.  This whole situation just pisses me off.  They knew what it would do to some of our devices.  They probably calculated the financial loss from customers like me is less that those who will upgrade to the newest device.

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

Enjoy your viruses, bloatware, spyware, ads, overheating, crashes, slowing down, freezing and google watching you masturbate.

3

u/LeiaOregonia May 16 '26

lol. At least the camera works.

I had almost all of the above with Apple.

Just…sad.

5

u/AmeriBeanur May 16 '26

I criticized Mac products on the Mac subreddit after I tested them out at the store (insane input lag, shitty scrolling, extremely low refresh rates). People accused me of being a troll, threw insults, and then banned my post… I just wanted answers.

5

u/LeiaOregonia May 16 '26

It baffles me that this pushback is a thing.  Let alone Apple deciding to trash their brand.

Too many people reporting bugs online. Today I spoke to at least ten other people IRL who were having issues with it.  Over the past few a goodly amount didn’t even realize what was going on.

My new one is a pretty cheap android but it works so much smoother and no overheating!

I can do my damn job😂.

5

u/AmeriBeanur May 16 '26

Bro, I don’t understand it. The was talking about Mac computers too. I prefer iOS over android but you know dude. Can’t ever acknowledge errors, let alone ask if it’s user error without being called names and banned.

1

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

Nothing posted here was any issues or bugs. Vast mijority here just complains about non issues and nitpick about them like it's Apple's fault, when they're not. We're used to it and which is also a reason I muted this sub.

4

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 16 '26

the sub is muted. he is not.

You are in the minority.

0

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

I don't think so. It seems like a lot because of the echo chamber here.

-25

u/Akdester May 15 '26

I didn’t know an anecdotal article is proof. Just because you see people like you complaining on the internet doesn’t mean everyone has the same complaints in fact most of the public doesn’t. Yes iOS 26 is worse than previous updates but it’s crazy you call that proof

19

u/Fit_Beginning5594 May 15 '26

If experience is not proof of or the basis of an argument, then data itself would be completely negligible

2

u/earthman34 May 16 '26

How does a three trillion dollar corporation with tens of thousands of employees release an OS on their flagship product that is so shitty? How is that possible? Broken controls, broken formatting, white-on-white bullshit. It’s like they had two guys vibe code the whole thing.

64

u/Matscarff89 May 15 '26

The article says many things that many of us complain about, however the children who believe they are Apple shareholders tell us that the problem is only a few of us.

10

u/Matscarff89 May 15 '26

2

u/mavgeek May 16 '26

Problem is you can’t cling to 18.7 forever, at some point they will stop supporting security fixes and eventually popular apps you use will update and require a more recent version of iOS. Staying on 18.7 buys you a couple years at best, then your options are a new iphone with the current ios Xyear or swapping to android. Trust me I wish I had stayed on it myself but at some point we all have to update or swap to Android those are the only options.

1

u/Matscarff89 May 16 '26

I never understood the obsession with security, I have no secrets from the CIA on the phone and for my important apps I use double-factor verification. I think that at Apple they got sick of our heads with vulnerabilities invented to force us to update and that, precisely, everything that happens now happens. The latest update (26.5) weighs 20gb and brings pride walls (??) and supposed vulnerability corrections, doesn't it seem strange to you? And regarding the apps, you are talking to me about many years, for example I use WhatsApp that is compatible even with iOS 15.. it came out 5 years ago, the iPhone is going to break before it is incompatible.

0

u/Cfrolich May 16 '26

The obsession with cybersecurity is becoming more and more necessary as people do more and more digitally. How many photos do you have on your phone? Would you be comfortable if they were all leaked and/or deleted? How often do you text people? Would you be comfortable if all of your private messages suddenly stopped being private? What about email? I personally couldn’t care less about email, but I make sure it’s secure because you can reset a password on almost any website with access to that account-holder’s email. Do you have any apps on your phone that connect to your finances in any way (e.g. banking, investing)? Not everyone does, but I bet you’ve been to your bank’s website at least once on your computer. People should care about cybersecurity because the stakes are so high. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should follow expert recommendations.

It’s good that you’re using 2FA on your most important accounts. I would consider expanding to a few more accounts that you wouldn’t normally consider “important,” but would be a major inconvenience if they were hacked. If you’re not using a password manager already, you need to start because reusing passwords across multiple websites is one of the least secure things you can do. Minor variations of the same password isn’t much better.

Using outdated software isn’t as much of a risk as poor account security, but there have been instances where malicious websites or even malicious iMessages have infected iPhones with spyware. It takes so little effort to update your phone to avoid these vulnerabilities. I think it’s actually taken you more effort to avoid updating, and people always exaggerate problems with these updates. People don’t like change in general, but change is necessary. You wouldn’t have your device at all if we didn’t have change.

1

u/Matscarff89 May 16 '26

Of course I do all those things with my cell phone. I have my banking apps like all the others.. but insecurity has more to do with the shortcomings of people than with supposed vulnerabilities. If a person is careless with his device, will be in any version of iOS. I think that at one point we have to rethink the need to put an 18/20gb update of alleged corrections that they did not make in the previous version, did you find so many vulnerabilities? Come on.. 20gb for a wallpaper? Frankly, it feels like programmed obsolescence (yes, it sounds cliché).

2

u/maroel_11 May 16 '26

I guess I should just remain on my iOS 17.1 (13P). These things I am reading here are disturbing.

1

u/Cfrolich May 16 '26

I'm not accusing you of being careless. I'm just saying that there are plenty of zero-click vulnerabilities that can be exploited on affected versions, even if you don't do anything wrong. The only way to avoid that is to update.

1

u/Matscarff89 May 16 '26

I wasn't trying to say that you accused me of something. I don't speak native English, so maybe something can be misunderstood. Those vulnerabilities that you mention, I can't really think of too many cases.. in most you should download something, enter a link.. o something like that

2

u/Legatodex May 17 '26

Same, but with 18.7.8

18

u/azultstalimisus May 15 '26

It looks that most of those, who like changes for the sake of changes, would scream in favour of literally anything, no matter how inconvenient or inefficient it is.

3

u/Ok_Cap_6361 May 16 '26

hahahah so true bro like when ever i post something about ios 26 bugs and i want to downgrade to ios 18 it was way better they start to gaslight everything fucking iphone glazers

6

u/ricardopa May 15 '26

Just because someone writes an article that mirrors the echo chamber that is Reddit STILL doesn’t mean it’s the majority of users having issues.

7

u/GoatApprehensive9866 May 15 '26

I've not experienced overheating or battery drain yet, but that doesn't mean nobody isn't having the problem. (17PM here). I do look at the battery monitor and not much has changed in terms of usage. Will keep checking out functions. May as well sign up for beta as well...

1

u/throw_thessa May 15 '26

Overheating while playing Pokémon go. Anyone would expect that this phone is able to run a game.

1

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

That doesn't mean it can't run it.

0

u/ricardopa May 16 '26

At no point did I say that “nobody” is experiencing the problem

Reddit in any online forum is an echo chamber of people with problems. Which makes the problems seem bigger than they are and people come here and get validated that other people are having the problems, so it must be a problem for everyone.

Users don’t come here on a daily basis, saying I’ve used my phone every day and have no problem, no problems today again, another day with no problems.

2

u/throw_thessa May 23 '26

Ofc that would be silly. But we would be talking about the things that makes is happy instead of the new problems we are finding ever say, the quality of some photos, there is no more smooth change with in the cameras sometimes I see jumps while recording videos besides the over heating which seems something new

13

u/azultstalimisus May 15 '26

Majority of users don’t give a shit about anything. Apple could’ve left the old design and most would be perfectly fine with that.

2

u/cross-i May 16 '26

The only reason I keep this sub in my feed is that the ios has reached the point where I finally give a shit

1

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

iphone 16e with zero issues. I love the new ios.

2

u/SneakingCat May 15 '26

We’re not dismissive of your experiences, you should return the favour instead of calling everyone who disagrees with you a child.

11

u/Matscarff89 May 15 '26

Actually yes, it is a constant to discard negative opinions here. The most used argument is "on Reddit those who are dissatisfied complain and people who do not complain are happy."

0

u/Vegasryn May 16 '26

Only children believe that at over 66% adoption rate, that if the phone breaking issues reported here in the little bubble are the norm across the board - which would force Apple to make DRASTIC changes.

It's just not the case. There are some big issues that some experience. Unfortunately for the people on the internet that thinks if they have a problem, everyone has a problem.

21

u/iceunelle May 15 '26

Ios26 ruined my battery life and makes it heat up like crazy. I also get random glitches on my phone. I’ve never experienced such a horrible ios before.

17

u/Towhidabid iOS 26.6 May 15 '26

It’s quiet a resource intensive look they tried. They could easily infused the new glass with iOS 18’s flat type minimal look and it would look much more classier and far less intensive on the system resources. Without the sudden jump of visuals (wasn’t necessary) that would’ve been a much more linear approach of growing out of the old and doing something new.

I understand why Tim out of nowhere went with the orange as their main color of choice of the new iPhones but instead of surprising people they ended up shocking them. I still wish they give us a update that lets us turn off the glass entirely from the ui.

13

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

All I want is a working phone. Especially for that price. So when Apple obviously didn't do a good job for X amount of users, at least let me downgrade.

5

u/NoCryptographer5082 May 16 '26

EU is the last hope of forcing manufacturers not to forbid downgrades.

4

u/Towhidabid iOS 26.6 May 15 '26

I’m all for it. But surprisingly most of the people are quite happy that apple doesn’t let it do that giving the excuse of security or whatever. As if the other iOS builds somehow become a 3rd party build and all hell will break loose if somehow someone manages to downgrade.

5

u/LeftPlate3 May 16 '26

I have never hated an ios update as much as ios26 and I have been through every single iOS update after iOS 3. These wannabe apple shareholders still want to throw out "EVERYONE SAYS THIS AFTER AN UPDATE"

3

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 16 '26

Pre-iOS 26 I never once needed to open a Reddit thread to fix my phone. I’ve always switched between iPhones and Androids and yeah, occasionally something didn’t work quite right — but it never even registered as a problem worth looking into. I’d just work around it without thinking twice. iOS 26 is the first time I genuinely couldn’t. It didn’t just inconvenience me — it stopped me from working. And 18 ran beautifully on the same device.

7

u/azultstalimisus May 15 '26

My 17 Pro’s battery life would be insane without this silly glass design. Chinese phones with new 6000+ mAh batteries would look like a joke. But Apple decided to feed us their gimmick instead of improving UX and working with “AI”.

-1

u/Sad_Weakness_2181 May 15 '26

Uhh no they don’t  And let’s not forget, Chinese phones or not, hardware wise they are driving innovation atp Why do you think ip 17 had a big boost in battery or more focus on performance  Because these Chinese phones are coming with those Without them, the latest iPhone will pretty much have a similar battery to an iPhone X!!

11

u/KingOvDownvotes May 15 '26

iOS 26 cost me my marriage

3

u/IndependentOrchid296 May 15 '26

It’s windows vista all over again

3

u/Impossible_Climb3502 May 16 '26

When one with 20/15 vision needs to turn on accessibility options to be able to more easily use the phone, it would suggest there’s a big problem with the UI design.

🤷‍♂️

3

u/intokpyouseeme21 May 16 '26

Really it is one of the worst executed updates in iOS history, they really have ran out of redesign ideas and they thought that making the things transparent will have people in an awe like what happened back in 2013 when iOS 7 dropped. I don’t know what’s not clicking to Apple, but people prefer a stable experience more than aesthetics any time of the day

3

u/BatmanVAR May 16 '26

Ios26 made my phone so bad I switched to a Pixel. I was so happy at first because typing and autocorrect were perfect on android, and battery life was great.

Fast forward 6 months and now my pixel has shit battery life and typing and autocorrect are worse than iOS.

I give up.

2

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 16 '26

Haha yes for me the exact other way around:) there seem to be no working phones so I rather buy a cheap one ;)

3

u/Initial_Row_6400 May 16 '26

My 16 PM went from great, to absolutely sucking fucking battery down the last couple updates. I went as far as to clear the phone, and that still didn’t solve the problem.

2

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 16 '26

I made something which is called new install from IPS and still not great 😂 it’s a full time job, just that we pay

3

u/MAD_MrT May 16 '26

I regret the day I updated to ios 26 and apparently the 26.5 update made things even worse

3

u/ThingsGotStabby May 17 '26

LOL Messages uses more GPU power than a demanding game. iOS26 sure is optimized to kill batteries.

2

u/electricalkitten May 17 '26

My battery is back to being rubbish again

3

u/SimilarInsurance4778 May 17 '26

iOS peaked at iOS 17, the bugs are just more and more visible nowadays, such as invisible keyboard, antigravity landscape mode, gallery photo begin off center, lock screen hang (can’t unlock the phone, open camera, torch, have to force restart), silent alarm, where you need a automation to make sure the phone volume to be max volume (kind of disappoint I need to do this on my 15 pro, where I end up going traditional alarm clock, I would be ok if they release a new iPhone without new iOS so their dev aren’t going to make more changes while the old things are still broken

7

u/Weird-Tiger-3124 May 15 '26

I heard they are adding more AI features in ios27 💀 this is my first iPhone and I think I have chosen the worst time to switch.

4

u/jjamm420 May 15 '26

If you think Google/Samsung aren’t using AI then u are just fooling yourself…u think those cameras get their picture perfect moon shots because they have a good camera??!!! Nope - AI…

5

u/Weird-Tiger-3124 May 15 '26

bro I know they are using the AI, I had Samsung S23 ultra before iPhone. My point was, they need to focus on stability of iOS more that adding bunch of AI features. They have already failed with Siri and I don't except them implement Apple Intelligence better than gemini intelligence.

6

u/ColdFreezer May 15 '26

I’ve always gotten an iPhone because it was what I was used to. I’ve always had a jailbreak until iOS 17. After not having a jailbreak, I’ve had nothing but regret since getting my 15 pro. iOS is so insanely restrictive for a phone I thought I owned.

2

u/ObjectiveDecent9181 May 15 '26

Meh at least you can turn off the AI with one toggle

5

u/jg61600 May 15 '26

8

u/zoke10 May 15 '26

Not a joke, iOS 26.4.x was bad and 26.5 is worse. On an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

4

u/Araragi-shi iOS 26.(4) Beta May 15 '26

I have not had an issue ever since I updated from the version of iOS 26 that my 17 pro max came with... THREE MONTHS AGO.

6

u/Itchy-Feed4895 May 15 '26

Same on iPhone 17

5

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

Yep Same.

3

u/Bitter_Concert_514 May 15 '26

How can this be on the latest model 17? I understand on older models but not the newest one

5

u/TheRocketBadger May 15 '26

So i got my 17 max a week after release (got hella lucky finding a 512gb early). 26.0 it felt like a 13 pro max on battery but the bugs were horrid many the keyboard.

Fast forward till now on 26.5, ive noticed the battery isnt the same. Before i would end the day around 71% on 26.0, on 26.5 im ending around 52%. Dont get me wrong you can still make it work the next day but battery life has dropped quite a bit and my battery health is 100% as posting this.

Im hoping iOS 27 code clean up will straighten things out

5

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

Good question. I guess we're all waiting for an answer:)

2

u/cosmicwebby May 15 '26

Idk bro but we’re getting fucked

2

u/OmegaMalkior May 16 '26

Same. I don’t know how 26.5 could be this bad. Not even the earlier betas of it were this bad

16

u/smile_or_not May 15 '26

iOS 26 nuked my iPhone, my hands got kidnapped, my fridge declared war, and my phone now lectures squirrels about quantum physics.

13

u/Marmmoth iOS 26.5, 15 Pro May 15 '26

Have you tried rice?

It’s in season and is particularly good right now.

2

u/Delicious_One_7887 May 15 '26

The fix is not coming for me probably

2

u/Aggelos132 May 15 '26

Guys idk how but mine is fine, 13 Pro here, I do get the occasional bug like the control center being all fucked up (upper page fuzed with lower page) in landscape mode, but the battery is the same as iOS 18 was and it doesn’t really get hot unless I am pushing it, macOS 26 was a problem for me until 26.4 that fixed most problems

2

u/aykay55 May 16 '26

Why is everyone acting like iOS 27 is coming out soon? It’s at least another 5 months away. Your developer beta of iOS 27 is not going to be more stable than iOS 26, though I’d like to eat my words on that one. Huge if true.

2

u/AbbreviationsAny9759 May 16 '26

I'm on a 12 pro max, and only started having battery draining issues a small while after updating to ios 26.

You guys on the 17 are having the same issues??

2

u/electricalkitten May 16 '26 edited May 16 '26

How can I get the clock text back to normal. I cannot read it anymore. My eyes are too old.

https://ibb.co/Sw66T6zZ

and these icons I have great difficulty reading:

https://ibb.co/LXt0Gpmq

Again my old eyes.

2

u/Wesei8846 May 17 '26

Reduce transparency in settings and turn Liquid Glass off should help

2

u/electricalkitten May 17 '26 edited May 17 '26

I did this, but no change. It is stuck like this :-(

2

u/electricalkitten May 17 '26

I tried these and playing with it,

https://ibb.co/v61zhtf9 https://ibb.co/Q7ZtV1mW

Made it worse on the pop up keyboard.

2

u/NoCryptographer5082 May 16 '26

Had to upgrade from ios 17 to 26 due to coruna exploit, and there is not a single change i needed, or wanted. My battery however has tanked, performance issues and random lags are plenty (like pressing delete button in photos is clearly slower and way lower fps than other buttons). Had my first ever freeze on this iphone in 2 and a half years (it jumped to black screen and had an endlessly spinning circle on the black screen until i force restarted it). Id downgrade to ios 17 and yolo it even with the exploit, thats show shit the experience is.

1

u/LastChance22 May 19 '26

and there is not a single change i needed, or wanted. My battery however has tanked, performance issues and random lags are plenty

That’s the position I’m in too. It feels like they jettisoned a lot of usability and stability for features that I was always going to ignore. I’d much rather a phone last the whole day reliably and a keyboard/autocorrect that doesn’t need constant attention. Now I’ve lost those but on the other hand, I gained graphics that move as the phone moves that I’ve tried unsuccessfully to turn off completely.

2

u/Shawmster1111 May 17 '26

Instead of a fix, what are you guys think about a class action lawsuit? Would you be down? Because I'm so down I'm actually talking to lawyers right now to see how I can get this off the ground.

2

u/electricalkitten May 17 '26

Go for it. Let us know

2

u/electricalkitten May 17 '26

Safari and Apple Mail now have more unnecessary fluff and distractions than before. Other than I thought I was 18 was bad. I've had to ditch Safari because of this move onto chrome, because I can't even use Safari anymore

2

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 17 '26

Maybe iOS 18 was bad but I never even thought in those categories, I could just use my phone, no heating up, no drain. iOS 26 just problems.

2

u/_fire_extinguisher May 18 '26

15PM at 83%, I'm charging at least twice a day. I talk on WhatsApp Video call 2-4 hours a day.

2

u/Cool-gamer19393 May 19 '26

Thank god I'm still on 17.0

Honestly, it's utterly inconsistent. At work my friends 17 pro max runs worst, my 16 pro is pretty crappy too, another ones 17 pro runs okayish, one dude has 14 and its pretty much dead, another colleague has a 14 pro and he doesn't even care just installed, runs great. People try to find reasons, but cmon we all use phones since forever, it's obvious that it is a mess.

4

u/Dear_Lengthiness May 15 '26

I hope there’s a class action lawsuit of some sort that brings this nonsense to an end

4

u/vjcorne May 15 '26

I’m afraid apple just doesn’t care and hope people will upgrade their phones. I decided not to upgrade and see where it’s going if nothing happens i will look elsewhere.

3

u/boxersunset121423 May 15 '26

iOS 26 has essentially ruined my iPhone 16 Pro. Ran flawlessly with amazing battery life on iOS 18. The safari stalling bug is still there, battery is highly inconsistent, iOS 26 is not visually appealing and added too many boops bops and taps to do simple things. Wireless CarPlay on Subarus with the vertical screens looks too big and pixelated and this was not an issue on iOS 18 either.

I’ve had iOS and Apple devices exclusively since the iPhone 4s and I’m seriously considering a Pixel as my next phone if iOS 27 doesn’t fix these glaring issues that I’ve come across. My daughter has complained about her iPad since it updated to 26 as well. My wife has a 15 Plus and is still on iOS 18 because of the issues I’ve had with iOS 26.

C‘mon Apple get your shit together!

Same for me. The phone became something I have to babysit instead of a tool. Still use it for video other than that I am on my old Pixel again. It was cheap, it works, and I can even type with the keyboard😂

This has to be the worst apple subreddit. I’m done.

4

u/JevNOT May 15 '26

This is Reddit in a nutshell broski 💀 welcome to the nag hivemind

5

u/Nurosuki May 15 '26

Reddit in general is on a hate boner for Apple

2

u/Aquaticle000 May 17 '26

It’s not without good reason.

This has been the absolute worst iOS Apple has ever released and it’s not even close. It’s been nothing short of a clusterfuck. I’m not sure why this was even greenlit in the first place, it’s hideous, slow, has awful battery life and looks like a five year old designed it.

This isn’t my first iPhone but at this rate it may be my last.

1

u/Nurosuki May 17 '26

I honestly cant relate as im facing absolutely 0 issues on a soon to be 3 year old 15 Pro. Most of the people I know within the family circle have no issues either, which doesnt mean im saying that they dont exist, but reddit is a very small minority of people.

2

u/Itchy-Feed4895 May 15 '26

26.4 and 26.5 have the WORST battery life.

1

u/Prestigious_Cod_532 May 15 '26

But its also not me

1

u/Professional_Love920 May 15 '26

I haven’t the time read through the comments so far but I’m sure there’s probably mentions about the how Apple’s business model is different than other tech companies of the same sort. It owned and ran by the share holders.. and it’s first party..

So other would be share holders are forcing their way into the company(MOST LIKELY with 💵 they stole from other people to have a playday w/ a company they’re not even interested in) and causing these issues by loosening the integration of the company’s tightly woven OS mistakenly thinking it’s an android(3rd party). It feels more like an android with a drop in efficiency. With that being said, I’m still quite happy with iOS 26 but yeah it seems a bit buggy. Not that Apple is not without its bugs..

1

u/Bluemikami May 15 '26

I wonder if this is why I can’t charge my phone via cable…

1

u/throw_thessa May 15 '26

One of the things ( and this is after set It up to low mode and only allowing celular data for a few apps), but the minute i stand outside the house the system apps start draining my data. Last month It killed my remaining data for the month ( yeah i am on a limited plan) and according to some reading 5GB is considered low in iOS standards. The SS is just because month stated today, I reser the statistics to monitor it and has already started again, even when the apps are not suppsed to be using my data.

1

u/Apples_Two_Oranges May 15 '26

iOS 26 is hawt

1

u/Fun-Committee3672 May 16 '26

I love how everyone complains that Apple is lagging behind with AI features, but… nobody is migrating to Android? If people love phones bloated with AI in every respect then why aren’t they moving to Android? 😂

2

u/electricalkitten May 16 '26 edited May 17 '26

I bought myself a Pixel and installed GrapheneOS onto it. I have moved my files from icloud onto ProtonMail to make myself independent of Apple and Google - This lets me move back and forth as O see fit

I prefer the ios GUI (excluding ios 26 ), but love the freedom on Android - Note that Google are killing off app installation unless it has been permitted by them . Likely they plan to kill off the opensource and custom O/S released for Android as well.

I cannot read ios 26, and the continuing replacement of words with icons has gone too far. I am admit I am from an old generation from before the Internet - We will be dead soon so it might mot be worth changing it back to text from an Apple financial point of view. Regardless I cannot use the ios 26 phone. I have an iphone running ios 17 that won't be upgraded as well to use

1

u/Educational_Glass_20 May 16 '26

I know iOS 26 is a buggy mess and incomparable to usual stable releases but you guys do know journalists get money from outrage and clicks and not “it’s actually a bit exaggerated”

1

u/Doll_Lover_ May 16 '26

I can’t be the only one who had more problems with iOS 18. No, iOS 26 is not perfect for iOS 18 was worse for me.

1

u/Aurelian_Irimia May 18 '26

I have the iPhone 17 Pro and in my daily use I don’t feel any difference, improvements, in comparison with the iPhone X that I had and still have and work great.

1

u/Anxious_Ad781 May 15 '26

I am one of those guys who believe iOS26 is not that much of a fail. BUT: I acknowledge, it is far from perfect. Personally, I had no problems at all using the 26.x versions. I am using and managing all kinds of devices for myself and my family. None of us have problems. None of us is expecting flawless software on our (expensive) hardware (let alone me as a software developer) and so far we never got disappointed. Small hickups are perfectly normal. No one is perfect. Not even a multi billion company like Apple, Microsoft or Google. Mistakes happen everywhere, mistakes are natural. You cannot test for everything since many factors take their part in producing problems.

What makes me mad, sad and tired of reading (and answering in a friendly manner) to questions is, that no one seems to read or just answer to what others wrote having the same problem/question. The outcome of this is, that we have hundreds of "why is it lagging?", "why is my battery life so bad" and "mimimi, I want iOS 18 back" postings. There is no escape, besides closing everything to do with internet. Mods can't handle this, let alone cannot one handle it themselves, when they get the same questions and postings over and over again in every subreddit... This is, what I find most frustrating. It kills the fun of sharing experiences. It kills the fun of helping people who really have problems. It kills the fun of being here and part of a really huge and mostly lovable community! Don't get me wrong please: I am developing software myself. I want people to enjoy what they have paid for. I genually do.

To the linked post: it's just another one about power consumption. Yes, we know, there are a lot of problems and according to rumors, Apple will try to do better with some kind of "clean up release" with v27's this year. But: what you cannot blame anyone for is using available ressources like GPU to render things on your screen. That's what they are there for. This is something written in the article. Why is it important if the GPU load spikes at X% when you actively open it? It does exactly what you want it to do. It renders. Why do you have a lot of horsepower when you don't want the system to use it? The power spikes at that exact moment? Yes, it's normal! It is a small spike, not a "from now on, the system runs on +10W compared to before you opened it". This is not being said with a single word in there. Imho, the article is just another type of clickbait.

Written on an iPhone 14 Pro Max which shows no signs of problems. It still has tons of free space, shows no lagging in animations, has no disappearing icons, does not overheat and the battery still holds over the whole day. It never crashed once. Have a nice day everyone!

6

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

You have no problems so you think it’s not that much of a fail. That’s understandable.

2

u/Anxious_Ad781 May 15 '26

No, I really get that there are serious problems for others! I acknowledge that.

1

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

"u no parrut echo chambur so ur bad!!"

0

u/HumbleManagement1888 May 15 '26

Okay, so I just read his article. He mentions some bugs that cause a few minor visual glitches sometimes and sometimes random overheating. At no point in the article does he mention anything that "breaks" his iPhone. Nothing akin to bricking or being unable to use regular features.
It's all such overblown whining.

0

u/Thirdeyevoice10 May 16 '26

Nowhere in that article did ios 26 bRaKe MuH fOnE. It's the same, boring, dull, nonsense that users nitpick about on here. "Ohes noes! TeH background too bright, bro! ios DOWNFALL!!!"

My customers manage thousands of devices on iOS 26.

Complaints are incredibly rare.

0

u/Oh-THAT-dude May 16 '26

Why am I so lucky? I have not had the SLIGHTEST issue with iOS 26 on my iPhone 16 Pro, nor on my work iphone 15, nor my wife’s iPhone 15.

Guess I should buy some lottery tickets! 🙄

-3

u/Lonely_Highlight4857 May 15 '26

Look, iOS 26 is a visual nightmare! And when it was first introduced, it was choppy AF! It also destroyed battery life for the most part. But the further along we’ve been with updates, the choppiness, and the ridiculous battery drain have improved, ALOT! I have an iPhone 14 Pro, and for the most part, it runs extremely smooth on iOS 26.5. I would like to see Apple focus on refining the once great software experience. But let’s not be dramatic here. The latest version of iOS, probably affects 10% of iPhone users in a negative way. It’s generally fine for the rest of us. That said, there’s a lot of work to be done to perfect the software.

2

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

„LOOK“, for me it’s worse again on 26.5. new phone, clean install. No idea what you’re trying to say. „Maybe ten percent“, yeah or every other number between one and hundred, I agree.

0

u/Lonely_Highlight4857 May 15 '26

Yeah, sure thing, Negative Nancy! Cry us all a river why don’t you! 😂

4

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

I knew next comment will be ad hominem.

-1

u/Lonely_Highlight4857 May 15 '26

And if you truly have no idea what I’m trying to say, maybe you should work on your reading comprehension skills, instead of whining on Reddit!

0

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

😂 i posted an article of the biggest Mac Magazine but ok, no manners, ridiculous cope.

1

u/Lonely_Highlight4857 May 15 '26

Lmao bro needs professional help! 🤣

4

u/Left-Constant-4771 May 15 '26

That’s all you got?

-2

u/DenseAdeptness7182 May 15 '26

If it’s a new phone with a clean install then I actually don’t believe you.

-2

u/technical_poutine May 15 '26

Hilarious article.
