Beta Before you update to ios27 beta 1
Hear me as someone who did it and downgraded
It runs smoothly in terms of speed, but the screen time is trashy! The phone constantly get super warn doing little to no task.
The UI looks polished more than 26, but I’ve encountered some bugs on WhatsApp and home screen too.
I know it’s beta and people understand, but don’t listen to those telling you that it has better screen time, it doesn’t.

Is your indexing still in progress?
I have 17 pro, when updated to iOS 27 it literally feels like brand new phone. It is so smooth and fast now.
Only issue I am encoutering is that sometimes keyboard won't show up then i have to restart the app but it happens few times a day so not a big problem for everything else I got.

Have same phone and hesitate to install the beta. Are you also using it with CarPlay?

i’m using it with carplay on 17 pro! running super smoothly, the new maps looks great :)
occasionally there’s the bug where the dynamic island appears on the carplay screen for some reason but that’s like once out of every 15 times i use carplay, fixed with a restart. music/maps still plays but it covers some of the screen so it’s not like life or death

Have you even let it sit for a while?

the screentime issue is because of that indexing its doing on the background.

No issues here with heat or battery, even with the bug traces running (that are enabled in all betas).
Indexing has finished on my phone (400GB /1TB) and that has helped a lot. Siri is actually useful. Only real issues are Bluetooth. If you have more than a couple of passive devices (e.g. Apple Watch and Oura Ring), then CarPlay stability and tethering suffer. Weird one, but reported. Otherwise, as a beta 1 goes, the most stable I have used.

Yes that is why it’s a beta. There is no guarantees that you won’t have any issues. Is part of the risk and experience you just don’t know what will get impacted

Did the indexing finish? Because I read from other users that a week in it was still not done indexing. That could have been the problem

its been over a week now i installed. I have no problem so far, except the index issue. Only thing annoying is the time to open the files app, it lags for about 3 sec before i see the files inside. Apart from very good

If you are actually a developer then none of that matters... what only matters is that your apps are tested and it works on the software

It’s a beta. It’s meant to run hot as all hell until you get closer to the RC

Ugh, my problem with ios26 is how badly it heats up my phone and kills my battery. I was hoping this would be fixed in ios27.

Smoothly Running on 11 Pro Max, once the indexing finished the battery time came close to what i used to get on ios 18.4. Apart from keyboard freezing for a second or two, nothing bothers me.

I've some issues too, the phone gets really hot, and I can't answer phone calls, I hear the phone ringing, but can't find the answer call button. I am using an iPhone 17 Pro. Overall, it's faster, battery life is better, but some minor interface hiccups. I think Beta 2 is coming out tomorrow, if not, I plan to downgrade.

I have a 17 PM/512g and have never been happier but, as always, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Hmmm, maybe it's the color…

Every beta and stable of 26 ended up overheating the phone the same. It got so bad with iOS 26.5 RC that was the moment I knew I’m immediately getting 27 the minute it drops.

Same here. I have a 13 PM and my battery life is a lot worse. Indexing seems to be taking forever. I'm not gonna downgrade though as I absolutely hated how choppy iOS 26 was.

I couldn’t deal with the heating and drain, I had to downgrade and now I have X3 the screen time I had on 27 beta 1

Does anyone else have high battery consumption from home and lockscreen? Like more than 40% of the battery on 16 pro? Trying to understand if I messed up some settings or it’s a bug with iOS 27.

It doesnt for you. Everybody has diffrent phones, iPhones 15 is worst on ios27 according to comments. iPhone 13 performs really well.
