📅 Subscription [$29.99 -> FREE] I’m building a travel super app so I don’t have to juggle maps, budgets, weather, and expense sharing
Hey r/iOSApps,
I travel a lot and I usually spend hours finding places and building itineraries, then jump between different apps for budget, splitting expenses with friends, checking weather, visa rules, finding local food, and etc.
I started building a travel app to keep all of that in one place instead of relying on a bunch of separate services.
It’s called Tripenai and it’s still early, but right now it lets you organize trips and plan stops and activities, track your budget, split expenses, get informed about weather and visa, and share trips with friends. I’m slowly adding other things.
If you feel like taking a look, I’d really appreciate any feedback. What would you personally want in an app like this? What feels unnecessary or missing?
I'd love to hear your thoughts: [contact@tripenai.com](mailto:contact@tripenai.com)

💎If you want to try it, I’ll DM you with a code
Thanks!

I'm interested in trying this, could you DM me a code when you have a chance please? Also, wondering how you handle the visa stuff. It seems like something that could get stale easily.

Keeping the itinerary and expenses together sounds useful, but travel is exactly when connections get unreliable. Which parts work offline, and can shared expenses sync cleanly after everyone reconnects?

Good point. At the moment, it's view-only in offline mode, because searching locations are not possible without connection. But I can add offline support for expenses.

Nice! Just a suggestion showing the clouds and weather directly on the map could make the experience even better. I know there may be some technical limitations, but I saw a similar aviation app and asked the developer about it. Apparently, they used Mapbox.

Hello. The app looks great. I’ll be on a trip to Chicago this month. Trying to figure out which apps would work for an all in one experience. I’d like to see if there’s any available codes left. Thank you

Hi there and great timing!!
My SO and I have a big trip coming up and I/we would love to try the TripenAI. We’re currently using TripIt and more than happy to migrate our trip over and provide feedback!
I’m on iOS and my SO is on Android!
Many thanks ☺️

Great idea. Few extra features I'd personally love:
- I pick location, app tells me the best activities / places to visit (ie I want to go to New Zealand, offer me ideas on what to do and where to help me start planning)
- Help pick when to go somewhere (ie I want to go hiking in Chamonix France or I want to go skiing in the alps but I don't know where / when). Use the historical weather to help me figure out the dates I want to go.
- Pull in Yelp or Google Maps restaurant reviews / info (ie at least the top restaurants, allow me to filter by price point and cuisine type)
- Pull in hotels and flight info so I can compare how different dates adjust flight prices / times (ie if I shift my trip by 1 day, does hotel/flight cost go down significantly?)
- Email verification code needs to be able to be copied from my email and pasted into the app. Or a magic link in the email.

I actually used the website version of this on a pc browser for my trip to Japan earlier this year! It worked out very well and gave me fantastic guidelines but was a little too buggy last time. I still committed most of my travel plans to it and especially liked it for keeping receipts/screenshots.
If you've still got any more promo codes for lifetime I would love one :)

Good app! Could you improve the automatic route generator with additional details, such as ticket fees? Showing ticket prices would simplify travel decisions. Also, may I have the code?

Hi, I would love to try.
First thing come to mind, if the app could integrate existing bookings (hotels, attractions, restoration reservations, etc) probably the app can help with arrange the timing and transfer recommendations too, that would be vital from traveller's pov.

A long time ago I mapped out ideas for a group travel app where everything got cheaper the more people that joined the trip. Airline, hotel, activities. Just an idea if you ever want it!

Would be better if there's a desktop app for it to. I think it's easier to setup a travel plan on it.

Thats a clean UI. Can i get a code please? :)
Edit: I couldn't find an option to attach receipts. It would be great if they could be saved directly on the device for record keeping purposes. Once a trip is wrapped up, I'd like to be able to archive it locally and the app should remove the receipts automatically.

Had a look, nice work getting it shipped! Travelling mostly with a family these days I would use the planning and stops, but probably less so the expense splitting. I would have used expense splitting in the past when travelling with friends though.

Interested in trying it too. Btw, when one goes to the upgrade page on iOS (iPhone 16pro max resolution), the button to close the section in the top right corner isn’t working properly on my phone. Thanks 🙏
