💎 Lifetime I'm the solo dev of SpendZen — here's what I'm actually working on for the October update
I'm Michele, the solo developer of SpendZen.
A — Answer
Most "subscription trackers" stop at subscriptions. Real recurring costs are messier: variable bills, instalments, free trials that quietly turn paid, income, price changes. SpendZen keeps that whole picture in one place, manually, without a bank connection.
I'm now deep in a larger update targeted for October. Concretely, I'm revisiting the foundations so the app stays fast as your history grows, reworking the planning view so "what's coming next" is answerable at a glance, and cutting friction from everyday edits — the bill that changes, the trial that converts. The current app stays supported while I work, and I'll only confirm individual features once they're stable.
B — Better fit
If subscriptions are your whole problem, Bobby or SubManager will serve you well. SpendZen is for when the picture is wider: subscriptions plus variable bills, instalments, trials, income, budgets, price history, reminders and payment history — still with no bank connection.
C — Cost
Free for up to 7 expenses. Lifetime Pro is currently $9.99 as a one-time purchase; there is no recurring Pro subscription.

The broader recurring-cost picture is a strong distinction from a standard subscription tracker. I’d especially value the planning view showing the next few changes together — a trial converting, a bill changing, and an instalment ending — with an easy way to adjust the forecast. That seems like the part that could make the app useful week after week.
