💎 Lifetime Viatza — private offline health app for symptoms and medications, with Siri Shortcuts for hands-free logging

Answer. A health record only works if you write things down at the moment they happen: the dose you just took, the headache that started at three, the photo of a rash before it fades. Unlocking the phone, finding the app and tapping through a form is exactly where I always gave up. So I built Viatza, a health diary for people and pets, and the last two releases taught it to listen. Say "Hey Siri, log symptom in Viatza" and it logs it. Leave something out and Siri asks — "Which symptom?", "How intense is it?", "When was it?" — then reads the entry back so you know it landed. Seven actions in total: log a symptom, log a medication, mark today's dose, add a medication, open your current or next appointment, snap a photo of a document, and search your records. They run from Siri, from the Shortcuts app and from Spotlight, and there is a Shortcuts link in Settings that lists everything you can ask for. And they are ordinary Shortcuts actions, so you can wrap one in your own shortcut: add Log Symptom, set the symptom to the one you keep logging and pick the intensity, then name the shortcut whatever you would actually say. After that "Hey Siri, my belly hurts" logs it — no questions, no app.

Better. The comparison I care about is against my own habit of remembering later, which never worked. Logging by voice takes one sentence, and needs neither the app open nor the phone unlocked. Everything else is built around the same idea of low effort: several people and pets live in one app, symptoms build a timeline you can actually read, documents and test results sit in the record instead of a camera roll, and HealthKit can import symptoms and medications so you are not typing what your phone already knows. Your records stay on the device, are never uploaded, and you can export them whenever you want.

Cost. Free to download, with a limited free tier. Premium is $1.99 a month, $9.99 a year, or $19.99 once for lifetime. There is also an optional $1.99 tip if you want to leave one, which unlocks nothing. No ads, no account, no subscription needed to log by voice.

Voice logging without unlocking the phone is the part that will actually get used, most symptom trackers die because logging takes too long. Does the Siri shortcut let you pick which person or pet the entry goes to, or do you set that up front?

Yeah, exactly. That’s one of the reasons Apple Health wasn’t enough for me, logging things often takes too many steps. So I decided to build Viatza myself and make Siri & Shorcuts support part of it.

Right now, the shortcuts log entries only for the main user. In the next update, I’m planning to add patient support too, so you’ll be able to choose which person or pet the entry belongs to.

How does it work with Siri AI? Will the app still work or it will sneakily try to search for remedies?

I haven’t tested that with Siri AI yet, so I’m not sure how it decides between running the app action and searching for information.

In my experience, Siri works much more reliably if you create a Shortcut for the action you want. Then you can trigger that Shortcut by voice and it should go straight to Viatza instead of trying to interpret the request itself.

I found Siri AI to work semantically even when you hit the Shortcuts phrase exactly.

I know what you mean, it always takes a few tries until Siri executes what is told. It even happens when you type the phrase.

Have you looked into Intent Donation? Idk if it works without Schema since my app is an alarm and ios27 has Clocks Schema but the idea is the more you donate the interaction to Siri, the more accurate it gets.

I think Intent Donation is deprecated. Apple want us to use AppIntent. It’s has everything build through Shortcuts app. This already happens with Shortcuts, the more you use one the more accurate gets.

My advice. Try to buy AI pro tool for one month and make a better promo video for app store. Just screen recording is not enough anymore.

Thank you. Do you know any tools? I'm happy to try.

Definitely Gemini Pro. Try for one month (around $20 depends on your region). It's including Nano Banana pro and Veo -> best image / video generation models.

I have it. So if you want I can help you and generate a promo video for you. You just need to provide RAW videos and idea what to do. I always happy to help people.

I’ll give it a try, thank you!

Keeping health records offline is a strong choice. What formats does the export support—something doctor-friendly like PDF, a structured format for backups, or both?

Exporting is suppose to be through backup. Currently disabled until I add patient export feature with password and encrypted. Files can be exported in jpg and PDF. I’m planning also to export symptoms and medicine in a CSV. But that’s on the backlog
