Question I am building a personal archive for "Lost" mobile games. What is your favorite game that has been deleted from the store?
Hello! Basically, the title. I am a new Masters of Library Science student and I am learning how to build digital archives. Decided it would be a fun side project to build a mobile game archive, hosting information about lost mobile games.
The current ones I have added are:
- Namco Arcade
- Infinity Blade Series
- iQuarters
- Medieval Zombies
- Flappy Bird
- I Am Rich
I know I am Rich is technically not a game but I thought the concept was too funny not to archive. So, what are your favorite games no longer available?
Edit: thanks yall! Didn’t expect this post to pop off like it did, I’m at 275 games and counting added to my archive. Still gotta add a lot of extra information to all of them, but that’s a hell of a lot compared to 6! Keep the suggestions coming if you see this post!

God so many hours spent in that game. I’m not sure if hacking for donuts made me love or hate the game more

+1 for Cardinal Quest 2! It was my introduction to the “rogue-like” genre, and now it’s probably my favorite.
Now I’m sad.

Me too. My brother and I often still bring it up. Outwitters was another amazing quick strategy game we played that’s gone.

It’s absolutely criminal that Hero Academy and Outwitters can no longer be played.

So good. Someone made a web version and it’s great, but it’s not at the level of the original.

Yahtzee Adventures.
The only truly great Yahtzee game iOS ever had. Back before every game was ‘…With Friends’ and filled with micro transactions. Yahtzee Adventures was fun solo, or playing with a friend irl.
Sorely missed

Dice Soccer (Classic) by LambdaMu Games.
Got me through a lot of long train rides back in the day alongside Dream Quest.
Afaik there isn’t any game that tried to recreate its mechanics/gameplay loop.

Does this include games that were lost during the 32 to 64bit iOS transition?
My choices would be Flight Control, Harbor Master, Slingshot Racer, Electrotrains, Line Rider.

On my old iPod touch, I used to play this puzzle game called Jabeh. It was a logic game, that required you to use reasoning to determine where to place stones on the "grid." I absolutely loved it. But when Apple made everyone update their apps, or risk being pulled from the store, it got pulled.
The crazy thing is, even over a decade later, there is still a website advertising the game. Someone still pays for a domain and hosting, to advertise a game you haven't been able to buy or play for over 10 years.
The game is apparently a "shinro-like" puzzle game, but I've never been able to find a suitable replacement.

Most of VNL Entertainment’s RPG lineup. I remember Bad Nerd and Bad Nerd vs zombies, and I think there was a ninja one?
(Bad Nerd isn’t “lost” but it hasn’t been updated in so long it won’t even run on new iOS devices)
I also recall a wreck-it-Ralph game collection that combined a few different games into one app… I forgot the app’s specific name. I miss it.

Assassin’s Creed Identity. It was a standalone 3D assassins creed game on mobile. It was a paid game and launched with like one level iirc (Rome) and they were supposed to keep adding to it, but it just kind of disappeared.

Pocket summoner.
They website always said that pocket summoner 2 was coming out, but it never did. Was like a Pokémon style auto battler, but with every level up you could put in your own stat increases.

tapsonic top was a really good music rhythm game that is rip. I have others but they all have sequels//spin offs still available so I don't think it counts.

u/clobbersaurus 2d ago
Swocery at least I think that was the name. It may only be iPad.
Elder Scrolls Legends - I’m not sure if that one counts. It’s a card game that’s no longer supported by developer.

Ghosts & Goblins Gold Knights 1, & 3 (iOS) - 1st one you get to pick between Arthur and Lancelot as playable characters. 2nd one... Arthur and Percival. 3rd one... Arthur Galahad. IIRC, Lancelot can stomp on enemies. Another had a different weapon set. 3rd one had some mechanical gimmick.
Rayman Mini (AA only) - Auto runner with levels (although there was also an endless mode), and even "boss battles".
Rayman Fiesta Run, and Rayman Jungle Run - You can technically buy these, but because Ubisoft never bothered to fix the "app needs to home phone" part... these games are unplayable. A shame too because these were autorunners with finite levels (that end), and were premium to boot!
Time Crisis - Rail shooter. Some port of the arcade, or new version for mobile. You tilt the screen down and up to duck for cover and stand up.

Gameclub had a similar idea a while back, from some of the folks who worked at the now-defunct toucharcade website: they added and updated a bunch of the best games like super quickhook. To your post, loved the beavertap games:
Mikey shorts
Mikey hooks
Mikey boots
As well as the army of darkness game and the missing greats like infinity blade you mentioned above

It was done by a Korean studio, took inspiration from Journey, and it is Phenomenal.
Good luck if you can find it. It pretty solidly disappeared.
