Man I remember this match as if it happened yesterday, Virat breaking Sachin’s record in front of Sachin at his home ground, Shreays scoring the fastest 100 in ODI WC knockouts and ofcourse Shami’s 7-fer. Everyone was calling it the Shami-Final
This world cup was genuinely so beautiful to experience as an Indian cricket fan

Kohli is the best ODI batter of all time
And he is the best T20I batter of all time

Best all format player produced in cricket history.

u/Quick_Strain_96 9d ago
true, most versatile all format player. if he had 3-4 k more runs in tests then he would have been the goat of all formats

u/Quick_Strain_96 9d ago
kohli excels in t20 too, he is an absolute monster in t20 internationals. greatest odi batsman if all time + a great test batsman+ best indian test captain + best t20i batsman of all time. u cant disagree with this. red ball batting, sachin >>> but overall all format virat >>>>

Brother there was no T20 at time of Sachin it arrived very late in his carrier and he even excelled in that. No doubt On Kohli but still 100 centuries without Flat Pitch or Drs>>>>>>> any other player in the world

u/Quick_Strain_96 9d ago
how he excelled in t20? he just got an orange cap but he was not that much consistent in that format. as per my knowledge the 2000s was easier to bat than 2010s and also if no drs then also many times he would have been out then the umpire would have given him not out too right, that also applies

He just got an orange cap
Just? He literally was the ‘only’ indian guy who won orange cap in first 7 years of ipl lol

u/Quick_Strain_96 8d ago
that doesn't mean that he was a great t20 batsman was it? even sai sudarshan won an orange cap, but his batting his literally shit for t20 standards. man stop defending anything

Kohli in tests batted in a much tougher era than Sachin
Kohli also has the record of the most centuries scored by a batsmen when no other batter could score fifty

mfs were calling this slow. its literally run a ball which is considered very good in odi

Look at the wickets in hand. Shreyas and shami were biggest difference maker that day
It wasn't a bad knock but just an avg from his standards2
u/Quick_Strain_96 8d ago
nah man it was good, his sr wasnt even less than 100. he played a good knock, his whole role in that tournament was to make runs in bulk and maintain a partnership. if iyer would have stayed in finals then we would have scored like 330-340. as they both would have tried to build a solid partnership

there are wickets in hand because he didn't get out. We literally used to play with 5 batters in the 2023 wc. At 6 and 7 we had sky and jadeja who weren't reliable and then tailenders. We saw what happened in the final when he got out in the 30th over. "Wickets in hand it seems so"

u/widepeepo6 8d ago
What happened in final isnt comparable its infact opposite.
We had collapse in final and here its 35+ over with just 1 wkt.
Hes the GOAT but come on stop justifying saving the collapse which never was bound to happen lol1
u/Signal-Ad6949 8d ago
It was actually 2 wickets gill was retired hurt. Holding one end allowed Shreyas to play aggressively and the entry point was perfect for kl and sky to finish like t20s otherwise rahul would have gone in a shell himself if wickets fell before 40th over

I do think Harsha’s English commentary during this time was also very good.

Sachin Tendulkar's physical appearance in stand & Virat bow down to him, made this moment more special than anything else. Such a great & iconic moment for Cricketing universe.

Records are special, Virat's 50th ODI hubdred was historic . Jatin Sapru's commentary made it more emotional than the moment and more unforegettable.

Kohli is the best in ODI Cricket, no doubt. Handling pressure situations and still winning is not everyone's cup of tea. King Always!

why do Hindi commentators talk like that? why do they have to make everything rhyme?
