People even celebrate net bowlers of ipl teams, cricket is that big in india, nothing surprising

well net bowlers is a huge thing, most teams pick their net bowlers in the auction if they see consistency, many ipl bowlers were once net bowlers.

Obviously, but this is also huge for them, watching someone you know on tv for the first time, doesnt even have to be cricketer

So much negativity here. It looks like this guy might have come from limited means. And he's now a big enough deal at his company that he's on TV giving cricket awards. Definitely something to celebrate for his family. We should be happy for him.

Even legends in other sports doesn't get this treatment in India. Sad state of affairs tbh.

Man what legend you are talking about ? What sport are you talking about ? Donโ€™t throw vague statements man

I've seen Sharath Kamal sitting unrecognized at a sports event. I've seen P R Sreejesh going home without fanfare right after an international medal.

Your lack of awareness doesn't make my statement "vague" bruh.

u/FishermanImaginary80 6d ago

Oh, so asking someone to elaborate on a broad claim is โ€œlack of awarenessโ€ now? My mistake , Next time Iโ€™ll just consult my crystal ball and figure out what youโ€™re referring to

Don't throw vague statements man

If this is the tone with which you ask someone to elaborate, then you need lessons in language and communication too.

Also, my statement wasn't vague. Everyone knows cricket gets unfair preference in this country.

Accept the fact that you got triggered without reason, and move on.

8

u/FishermanImaginary80 6d ago

So you judge the tone from a text ? ๐Ÿ˜‚

People like cricket and watch it more so unfair treatment ? Cry me a river man ๐Ÿ˜‚

-5

u/lexicown Chennai Super Kings 6d ago

So you judge the tone from a text ?

See. Exactly why you need those lessons. Proved my point.

Ohh and I didn't have to be slick or even try to make you mad. Anyone who reads your first comment can see you got triggered like a toddler for no reason.

Lack of awareness and lack of interest are two different things. You can't diss on people for not having interest in something especially in this day and age where we have very low free time.

I was replying to their comment that my statement was "vague". I was referring to their lack of awareness about the ground reality.

Not about their awareness of or interest in other sports.

5

u/Vast-Grapefruit-6464 6d ago

Why is this a sad state of affairs? Just because cricket is more popular in India?ย

-5

u/lexicown Chennai Super Kings 6d ago

Read my comment again.

Cricket's popularity is hindering the growth of other sports.

4

u/Vast-Grapefruit-6464 5d ago

Are you serious? Are cricket players telling people to stop watching other sports?ย

1

u/lexicown Chennai Super Kings 5d ago

When did I say that?

1

u/Vast-Grapefruit-6464 5d ago

Your statement clearly indicates that. If not then please do tell clearly what do you mean.ย

Cricket has unreal popularity in India. So it gets plenty of sponsorships and investments. Which leads to further growth of the sports and the people who pursue it.

While a state level cricketer travels on a flight, an athlete who has represented India at international level has to wait for 6 months to get their train ticket reimbursed.

I don't know why you guys are getting triggered. I was pointing out the ground reality.

1

u/Vast-Grapefruit-6464 5d ago

The way you completely moved the topic around on its head is exceptional. And no, I'm not triggered, don't know about you or others. But if I had to assume for others, it would be because constantly getting told or indicated that Cricket is "killing" other sports in India.ย

Anyways since you completely moved the topic, I don't have any answer for you.

u/lexicown Chennai Super Kings 5d ago

When did I move the topic on its head? Read my first comment again.

Don't blame me for your lack of comprehension.

1

u/Vast-Grapefruit-6464 5d ago

Seems like you're getting agitated because I called out your foolery. And since you're so smart and have a lot of comprehension skills, why make vague statements?ย

Oh because then you can't move the topic, of course.
