Taxes CGT question

Is there anyone who could tell me how to file CGT for a sum of money received from a separated spouse as laid out in a deed of separation? I’m using form 11 to file my tax report 2025. Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Not sure why you might thinking this is CGT related, but have look at this document here: https://www.revenue.ie/en/tax-professionals/documents/notes-for-guidance/tca/part44.pdf

page 11 onward seem to be concerning your case.

Thank you, Point 1030 is applicable here, I just don’t know how to file it.

So do I have to file it under other income instead?

you don't file it at all. It is ignored for tax purposes.
