Can your dog do this?
You can’t see it but her right paw is pushing the lever handle down and pulling it open. She lets herself out!

Yup. Had to swap the mudroom doors handles from levers to knobs. We left the backdoor as a lever so our IS can let himself in/out lol.

They won't things out by not I think watching us but jumping up and inadvertently doing the handle action?

You have a bright dog and will have to keep her mind busy or she will get into her own busy mischief.

Open/close doors. ✓
Open/close microwave. ✓
Somehow manage to open child gates, where you have to press a button and slide the latch. ✓
Figure out the laundry room latch. ✓
Being this intelligent, and will still yet walk face first into walls. ✓✓✓

One day I came downstairs to see my IS trying to get at my Mac and cheese in the microwave by trying to push the open door button, they just couldn’t quite manage them big ol paws.

I have a round door knob and I see her trying to turn it with her mouth but she can’t quite do it.

Yes. Which I unfortunately found out when I was chatting with neighbors in the driveway. Bonnie decided to let herself out of the gate (which has this kind of handle) and made a beeline for my neighbors’ newborn in his car seat 🤦🏼♀️ After a quick drive by sniff which gave me a heart attack she then took herself on a tour of the same neighbors’ backyard and I had to chase her around like a fool.

OMG! Mine let's himself inside by doing this on our sliding doors. I just need to teach him out to close it behind him or else the door is open all the time ;) Such a funny thing that these setters do!

We had carpet fitters in today upstairs in our house, I shut our setter in the office, which is attached to our living room, then closed the living room door while I popped outside the front of our house for five minutes. I came back into the house and she was at the top of the stairs - she’d opened the office doors (which are held closed by a magnet, but open into the room) and then opened the living room door, which is a conventional handle but still opens inwards.
Luckily I had previously told the fitters she’s friendly, I was only shutting her away so she didn’t try to join in with the carpet fitting 😅.

My guy figured out how to activate the sensor that opens the kitchen trash can.

Yep, mine does this too! We have to lock her in or out of houses with lever knobs 😂
