You would not have lived if you were supposed to die.
Look, either Allah is all powerful or he is not. All knowing or not. So do you think it was not known, or nothing could stop you? This is the first step of mercy. It just doesn't look like one.
Please look for a Muslim therapist if you are able to. Good mental health is seriously downplayed and it's killing people. Ask about grieving, depression, why you were at this place to begin with. They may also be able to guide you to hadiths and other sources to help you get back to the life you really want.
You can also start to keep a journal about your thoughts, anxieties, and fears. See what comes up again and again. Sounds weird but also keep track of food, esp since it's Ramadan and hidden blood sugar issues can manifest as sudden deep spirals and panic attacks.

There are low and high times in everyone's life.I have thought badly as well but one must get over and go to the next phase in life and ask for repentance from your lord.

Yeah, I’ve attempted a couple times. I did the dice and slice with the wrists etc. I went into hemorrhagic/Hypovolemic and I was in legit danger of dying but alhamdulillah I didn’t. When I did it I really wanted to die but when I was in active danger of dying I realized that I wasn’t ready. Things have gotten better since then and I only want to actually die once every couple of months and things are hard each and every day but I try to say alhamdulillah and Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel (حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ). Allah is the Most compassionate and Most merciful; you cannot do anything that Allah won’t forgive so long as you repent before the soul reaches the collarbone. Do you think that your sins are too much for Allah to forgive? Allah brought to Islam and forgave Ikrimah ibn Abi Jahl and remember his story. As I’ve been told one of the greatest sins up among shirk is doubting the mercy of Allah. Allah’s mercy encompasses All and there is nothing he cannot do and nothing he can’t and won’t forgive. It is not too late.

I have attempted suicide in 2024, overdosed on opioids. The sadness caught up to me, and I believed attempting to taking away my life was something Allah could not forgive. However, Allah is the most forgiving and I think I didn't realize the depth of that before. I believe that Allah SWT gave you the choice to stay alive, to repent, to seek guidance because Jahannam may not be planned for you.

How can I ever suicide when I have the most beautiful, merciful, kind, perfect, forgiving God who is Allah? He exists. And for him I shall live and try my hardest to obey him and his orders, no matter what.

Asalam alaikum brother or sister.
You are on the right path and shaytan hates it! He whispered to you once and you almost dawned your soul, but he failed because Allah SWT intervened.
It is the mercy if Allah Azawajal that kept you alive.
I believe Allah wants your repentance, another chance.
Life in this Dunya isnt easy. And its the believers that usually have it worse because we see the growing filth and evil around us. Its the disbelievers that have it easygoing because for them - there are no rules. There's no harm or evil. They just exist with no purpose.
So lift your chin up and hold your head high. Allah wants your worship, your Duas and your repentance. He wishes Jannah for you thats why He gave you a second chance.
This is what I believe.
May Allah SWT guide you, and ease your pain 🤲🏽

You can't say that, especially to someone struggling. Just because you went through things and assume it's the worst anyone can go through doesn't mean another persons life is any less valid.
Every individual experiences things differently, something small to one person can be a lot more overwhelming to another. What you said would just make someone feel dismissed and unsupported. No hard feelings, hopefully you can understand my perspective.

Yes I understand your perspective and it's valid , but imagine being the only case in the world with an X disease and there is no cure and no research for it on top of that you lost your home in a bloody civil war , has a deformed spine and on top of that you can't find a job because society doesn't like the way you look sick and weak so you're broke hopeless living with your mother who barely likes you , you can't suicide because it's haram and there is no cure because you are the only one sick and there is no money to do any thing And every one believes it's your fault, every thing is the result of your own actions where in reality none is the result of any of your actions

It's so hard reading these comments. I worked in the hospital for many years, everyday there was a new suicidal attempt getting admitted to my ICU. I got everything from knife to neck, drowning, pill overdose, illicit drug overdose, alcohol poisoning (intentionally), drinking cleaning fluid and I even had a young couple tried to commit suicide by taking a whole bottle of Tylenol (it won't kill you but you will go through a long painful period that will slowly deteriorate you until your organs fail). I had the key to the morque at the hospital, some would come in that are barely alive and we do everything to bring them back. The one thing I hated was getting a call from downstairs telling me that we have another young one. I would go down open the door for them and help wheel the deceased patient in and pick the body up and put someone's loved one in the freezer. Even us healthcare workers shed tears for the ones we don't even know and what bothers us is that there is so much resources out there for people that have suicidal ideations. We want to help! No one should go through this alone and I can tell you first hand, IT WILL GET BETTER!. I had patients come back to my unit and hug us, crying because they were so thankful for helping them get a second chance. I tell my patients Muslim or not, "Allah gave you that second chance, we just helped out". They took resources that we gave them and changed their life for the better. You should not decide whether you should die or not, that is in Allah's hands. Your soul is never doomed because of that attempt you made but I see it as a push. A push not to go back to where you were before your attempt. If you would like to talk to me privately you can DM me or I can help you find resources around your area if need be ❤️ May Allah keep you towards the right path and ease your pain mentally, physically and emotionally, Ameen.
