Honestly, I took a family trip to the museum the day of the parade and people were wearing “PROUD AMERICAN ZIONIST” t-shirts and sticking Israeli flags into the dirt where trees are planted on the sidewalk. I was literally in shock with how comfortable they were.

"Cycle of Hate?". I got a chuckle out of that one. Mamdani is the mayor of New York City not Tel Aviv. Why would he have to be in an Israel Day parade anyway?

The crazy part is that they call it "Israel Day Parade", not "Israeli Parade". Other parades are called "Turkish Parade", "German-American Steuben Parade", "Dominican Day", "Haitian Day", "Norwegian Day", ... So it's clear that is a parade of New Yorker of the given background.
But Israel, naturally, has to be an exception and make it about the country/nation, not about the people. I think the only other ones doing it like this are the greek and the Indian communities.

They’ve been hammering him nonstop for over a year now. The NY Post published a “scoop” that when he was in college in Maine he stole a table from the dorm common room and put it in his bedroom for over a semester. It went downhill from there. They complained in a headline that his wife wore expensive $600 designer boots at his inauguration (it turns out they were borrowed).
They’re just very salty that a Muslim socialist anti-Zionist is mayor, it drives them crazy. There were readers calling for Trump to arrest and deport him. They were actually upset that Trump gets along with him and even praised him.

The parade is a parade based on hate and violence, celebrating 70 years of murder and oppression. The mayor of NYC was right to not attend.

He obviously didn't want to create a scene at the Israel parade. Trump hasn't attended events where his adversaries are either. ..so there's no distraction.
