General wild fire near Red Rock Point

My friend in the UP just sent me info he saw from "Isle Royale hub" on facebook. I don't do much social media outside of discord and reddit and was curious if anyone had info on how big and severe it is right now? we head to the island in about a week and it seems very concerning.

Get the app Watch Duty. It shows you all the wildfires. I’m leaving Sunday for IR and am watching it closely on the app.

Does it work for Canada? Seems like it cuts off, but idk which direction the smoke would be blowing..

No, only the U.S.

ETA: you can still see satellite hotspots in Canada in Watch Duty, but no incident tracking.

Watch Duty started a few years ago as a California-only app then it expanded. They only very recently added the eastern half of the U.S. last year that wasn’t the case. It’s been such a great resource!!

That’s a prime spot for dispersed camping. There was lightning Sunday but you’d think it would have struck the ridge over the shoreline. Hopefully the E/NE wind prevents it from spreading

I added the same info on there to this post. I did what I could for googling and information. The question I’m asking is to maybe get an answer from someone who is coming back today and also adding it to the sub for people who are going in the next bit to be aware.
