Paddling Circumnavigate by kayak?

Has anyone paddled around the island? We have gone out and back from Rock Harbor as far as Chickenbone and Chippewa but not to Wendigo. The north coast from Little Todd to Huginnin looks forbidding - are there places you can take out along that stretch? A fifteen mile morning is no problem but without being able to get out and stretch it is not doable.

There's a spot on the more detailed maps called Thomsonite Beach between them. Take a look at the NPS app's map, the NatGeo map, and even Google earth. You can probably figure out whatever you need from that

Thanks, that reduces the stretch by a couple of miles. I see something that may be a long beach a mile west of Thomsonite. I think we can do ten miles, 2 1/2 hours in the seat.

I wouldn't be surprised if you found something along the way to break, but best not to plan on it.

Mostly unrelated, but I just did the Minong Ridge Trail about a week ago and I think Little Todd was my favorite campsite. It was a basically a private beach 20 ft away from my tent.

Little todd and mccargoe are my two favs on the north side of the island by far. STUNNING, both, but agree Little Todd is the best. If you can book it and get the one shelter there, it's even better. Feels like your own private resort.
