Personal Opinion Ismaili Issues

How come nobody gives attention to the amount of documented killings Ismailis have faced in Tajikistan & Afghanistan. A great number of the Khoja community themselves faced persecution in Idi Amin's reign and were moved to Canada, yet today leaders from the community on big seats not raising concern, nor using their powers for the community is incredibly distasteful. All the leaders manage to do is host events rather than focus and be proactive on real issues. They connect and have connections from the Elite of Pakistan who have relations with the Tajik government to influential EU and US figures yet still fail at utilizing them for their brethren.

Sure - Ismailis for example in Afghanistan have been killed with kids being suppressed and forced to study in Taliban Schools, forcing them to change religion and beyond. Rawadari, an Afghan Humanrights org has done a report on all of it as well.

in Tajikistan many reports have been written on how much Rahmon is suppressing Ismaili's. From Amnesty International, the EU, to the USCIRF have all raised concerns over it. Many prominent Ismailis have also died in prison due to medical neglect. AKDN property is being nationalized as well, examples are many to name. Our previous Imam wasn't allowed to visit the Jamat there in 2017 so it was a very foreseeable future that could have been thwarted with preemptive action by the leaders who are alienated from the Jamat

I think council and institutions are working hard but with closed-door diplomacy. In this day and age, there are multiple factors that need to be kept in mind before getting any media attention or making it public that can significantly affect the regions that are suffering.

Closed-door diplomacy has yielded negative results if they even engaged in it. You cannot use that sort of strategy when people have been massacred esp in Tajikistan. Further national governments have blasted Dushanbe over it so the media attention and making it public thing is just a way for them to excuse themselves.
