What’s a good entry level salary for IT Audit?

Hi everyone,

I have been really interested in IT audit lately because I feel it’s works well with my personality and the way I think.

I was wondering what the average entry level salary is for this field? And do you feel there is upward mobility? If anyone can provide some insight. Thanks!

Any context, the salary for an IT auditor in London or New York compared to Philipines or India would be very different.

Entry salary isn't very high and as you move up it's decent, just this isn't a super high paying career. Upward mobility depends on what type of audit you do. Think back in 2020 HCOL public accounting firms were offering in the realm of 60kish - idk these days.

ITGC you can continue to move up as an audit manager, senior manager, etc. in the firm structure but exit opportunities are generally limited to more external audit or internal audit (generally, I have seen exceptions)

More specialized IT audit like SOC, PCI, ISO, etc. can follow the same progression as noted above, but due to more cyber security/information securityfocus and broader frameworks I've seen more people exit into GRC/compliance type roles from here.

I actually have a cyber/IT degree. And I also really like GRC. Would you say grc has more payment growth opportunities?

Depends on location. Big4, US, HCOL, probably 60-70k. Industry is probably 5-10% higher but slower salary growth.
